How did Turles get the Tree of Might? Where did it come from?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

How did Turles get the Tree of Might? Where did it come from?

It's supposedly a divine thing, requiring the fuel of an entire planet (or at least a planet about Earth's size. Larger planet's probably fair better.) which bears fruit which can make one exponentially stronger. It was also only intended for divine beings like Kais and other gods, or, in the dub, for some reason Shenron.

And in fact, the fruit makes one TRULY immense. According to Movie 6 pamphlets, Turles' power level is 19,000 and Goku's is 30,000. This makes sense, as Goku easily dominates the fight when they first begin. However, Turles then takes ONE bite of ONE of the fruits of might, of which the tree doubtlessly produces hundreds, and Turles instantly gets many tens of times stronger. He breaks Goku with ease, even completely obliterating him out of a Kaioken x20 with no difficulty. Turles must have gotten 35x stronger or more in order to do so with ease.

...We'll ignore that these pamphlets also say that Gohan's power level is 10,000, and yet he doesn't instantly grab Turles and twist him in half after becoming a Great Ape who, logically, has a power of 100k. Which is weird, since Goku clearly uses Kaioken a few times to avoid Gohan, and it only works two or three times before he gets clipped, knocked down, and then grabbed and restrained.

So... Gohan's way stronger than Goku, who is way stronger than Turles... but then wait, Turles almost kills Gohan in one shot with his Kill Driver? Because Goku steps in to save him as if he's worried.

The entire movie is confusing when it comes to character power levels. But that's par for the course for movies.

The important thing, and the meat of the matter... how did Turles get the tree? Are we to believe he just stumbled upon the seeds for the thing on some random planet? And how long ago did he get it is another question. He can't have actually used it before now, surely, because King Kai instantly seems to sense the tree growing. If he had sensed it before now, given that it's a divine thing, he would surely be within his rights to send some champion like Pikkon down from Otherworld to fix things, given the nature of the tree.

So, seemingly, Turles got it at least somewhat recently, and has only used it once, on Earth. He and his team have never eaten from it before given the way they talk about what they'll do after they have the fruit.

With all this in mind... what do we think? Is there any obscure sources that shed light on these things? Or, more interestingly, does anyone simply have ideas they would like to share?

It's surely an interesting topic which was never really explained.
When it comes to movie characters, that could be something for Heroes, since Turles appeared in recent arcs.
Are we to believe he just stumbled upon the seeds for the thing on some random planet?
In Toyotaro's doujinshi "DB Zero" (under the then-penname Toyble) he showed Turles beaten up on Planet Dessert, where he seemingly found a fruit... Of course, still needs to counted as fanmanga.
