Budokai 3 Confirmation

I really would like some answer on that. A few general console magazines over here reported Budokai 2 was coming out on Gamecube, but I can't find anything official online. It's not unlikely (it being Japanese, and the Cube being popular-ish in Japan), but you'd think we'd have heard something by now.

I seriously doubt that the GC is going to get 2. They may get 3 but if they were getting 2 it'd be this fall most likely and we'd have word on it by now.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Damnit. I can't buy a PS2 just for San Andreas, Pro Evolution Soccer and Budokai 3.

Besides, two of my housemates have PS2s (and one has an X-Box). I suppose I could just buy it and play it on his, like I did with Vice City.

I don't see why they wouldn't re-release Budokai 2 on GC, since they did released Budokai 1 on GC when Budokai 2 was released. If they do though, I hope we get something like the V-Jump version with Broli and Coola.

Anyhoo, update time! From the screen shots, we can conclusively say the game will have:

Goku (default, Kaio-Ken, SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3, SSJ4)

"Fat" Majin Boo

Gohan (Cell arc - default, SSJ, SSJ2)

Found this over on the IGN board. Shows some cool stuff. New stages include Namek (on fire!), Mt. Paozu, and another one at the end... not quite sure what it is.

Shows Coola's transformation (really huge), Coola uses Sauzer's blade attack, a new meteo-attack-type thing, power beam struggles (a la Final Bout), SSJ2 Gohan vs SSJ3 Goku = lots of golden aura + electricity.

Just pre-ordered the "Collectors Edditon" of Budokai 3; I can't wait to have a chibi Broli ontop my PS2

This is going to be great, especially with those promo DVD's.

The clips looks awesome, the duel between Gohan and Goku was nice.

This may be of some interest, but a mate of mine on Neoseeker said he went to a game convention and B3 was one of the games there.

Tips & Tricks has a Budokai 3 related interview. Nothing special, but Uchiyama says that all of the characters from Budokai 2 are in it (of course, they said the same thing about Budokai 2 - that all of the first game's characters would be in).

They can leave out Dodoria if they want, but I want Kid Gohan, Zarbon, and Android 19 back! I kicked butt with those three. And Zarbon and Kid Gohan need ultimates... well, no, everyone needs an ultimate. >_<

I got good news on the way

I know a guy who's a test player for a video game magazine. He's getting the early version of Budokai 3, and at the end of the week I may have a full report on everything. That's a full 3 weeks earlier than before it comes out on print.

Before you cringe, this is sorta a "friend of a friend" thing, or to be more precise, a brother of a casual online aquinteince.

So yeah, it may not come to pass. But I'm going to really try, and bug him until I get the details.

Nah, it's okay. I don't blame anyone for being suspicious at this point. Hell, I wouldn't believe me either.

The only reason why I trust this guy is because he also runs his own site and messageboard. He's a bit...weird, but he never flat-out lies.
