Favorite Filler Moment
So I'm rather new to posting but I was wondering what is everyone's favorite filler moment . Those who ignore the filler, it's understandable if you feel like not posting, but I think (now this may be the nostalgic part of my past) most all Dragonball is good Dragonball. So I guess I'll start with mine. I know that canon-wise it's a no go, but I've always like Goku vs. Pikkon fight (sorry if I go by dub names as I'm am re-watching the series in Japanese now), particularly the notorious "Super Kaio-ken."
I actually liked the Saiyan history episode (the one that introduced the Tsufuls). While briefly mentioned in the manga, the flashback seems to be what truly sets the tone for the scene.

Doesn't look like you have to worry about it.TheLastSaiyan wrote:I've always like Goku vs. Paikuhan fight (sorry if I go by dub names as I'm am re-watching the series in Japanese now)
Anyway, I really liked the whole Otherworld Tournament arc too. Was nice to see so many other colorful characters get introduced, and the fights were a lot of fun.

I always loved Gohan's training segments during the Saiyan saga. It was a fantastic throwback to the adventurous aspect of the original Dragon Ball, and it really depicted Gohan's coming of age from a naive, nutured little boy into an independent, strong warrior.
Also, the fake Namek episode was pretty fun.

Gohan's training was great. Especially since in the Manga it's like, 1 chapter, Gohan's crying like a baby on the cliff, and the next he's already training with Piccolo without us seeing anything in between. It was cool to see Gohan actually mature and become more independent.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I think that was the highlight of the entire show for me. It was definitely the part I first saw and thus the part that got me into it.jjgp1112 wrote:Gohan's training was great. Whenever somebody mentions this, I always like to point out that although most everything in the episodes are filler, the whole idea of them learning to drive is based on "canon" material. Toriyama drew Goku and Piccolo learning how to drive on the title pages of chapters 255-256, which were printed in 1990 WJ #05. This was one of the few issues to feature two chapters of DragonBall, which I'm sure was always a nice treat. I can post some title page scans later, if anyone would like to see them.FuniYamcha wrote:I'll be the first to mention Goku and Piccolo learning to drive. Postboy.....awesome.

I liked Gohan and the robot and Gohan on the island with all the orphans. I could've sworn that the boy's name was Rum...

The dub of it was even funnier. There were some awesome lines:Chuquita wrote:I second "Goku and Piccolo learn how to drive".
I'd also like to throw in "Goku and Vegeta travel inside Buu; run into giant foods, giant worms, and Vegeta gets slimed a few times and does not enjoy it". :3
Vegeta: Son of a Namek!
Vegeta: Great Galaxies!!!! If I know my anatomy, then we're headed straight for the...the...southern exit!
*about to get crapped out by Buu*
Vegeta: Aw, Crap!
Goku: ...We're about to become that, aren't we?
Vegeta I won't become part of that Pink monster's excrement. I am the Prince Of All Saiyans - I go out through the front! (that's not the EXACT line, but close)
*waiting for one of the holes in Buu's head to open up again*
Goku: OPEN SESAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vegeta: ...genius
Goku: Look Vegeta, people popcorn!
Vegeta: What is he on?!

LOL! They're both trying so hard. XD
I like all the little "spot the differences" between the two images.
Also, I find it interesting how Piccolo's cars have the steering wheel on the left-hand side.
I always liked the training up to the 22nd Tenkaich Budokai with Goku. The episodes were like an entire story based within one episode. They are short, enjoyable and it feels better than with the manga where it does a random time skip to 3 years in the future. I feel this filler bridges the gap.
Also, you've got to have the driving episode in.

Are those lines new? Like re-dubbed in Season 9? I don't remember those lines the dub...jjgp1112 wrote:The dub of it was even funnier. There were some awesome lines:Chuquita wrote:I second "Goku and Piccolo learn how to drive".
