Jamie Chung was sufficiently hot, albeit too bland-looking.

Sadly, the only playable ChiChi in BT3 is the lolicon version.

I did spend a lot of time on the character reference screen, though. :P

Just like I spent a lot of time on the main menu, right, sir?

I will say, the only good things about kid ChiChi being the playable one are (A) It's still ChiChi, regardless, and (2) Videl's intro speech against her. Priceless.

Rocketman wrote:-Wild Sense [2] - Automatically teleport dodge the next attack. {Teleport to the side of the attack} <Not sure how this differs from Afterimage>
I didn't understand it at first, either. But each of the automatic teleports is unique and has its own individual sets of pros and cons.

What they all have in common is that none of them will:

(1) Counter Rush Blasts or an Explosive Wave/Barrier
(2) Activate when you are attacking or charging Ki, leaving you wide open

Wild Sense is the weakest of the three:

Pro: You can counterattack automatically after teleporting

Con: You can't have more than one active at a time
Con: You can't use it while being hit
Con: You can't control the direction in which you teleport
Con: The counterattack can be teleported

Afterimage is a step-up and probably the best of the three:

Pro: You can store up to a total of three
Pro: You can use it while being hit
Pro: You can control the direction in which you teleport
Pro: You can use it to dodge any incoming attack that can be teleported

Con: Each Afterimage is good for only a single teleport, meaning that attacks with multiple hits (like Super Explosive Wave) can potentially be a problem even with proper stacking

Afterimage Strike is comparable to Afterimage:

Pro: You can teleport an unlimited number of times for a duration of 15 seconds
Pro: You can use it while being hit

Con: Ki charging takes a dive following use (but only until you can charge into the blue, after which it returns to normal)
Con: You can't use it to dodge Rushes and B2 Throws (such as Broly's Gigantic Hammer)

As a special note, both Wild Sense and Afterimage can be combined with the "Mirage" potara to create an Afterimage Strike-esque effect with each use, meaning that with this equipped your automatic teleport will dodge any multiple-type attack in its ENTIRETY. Useful for nullifying energy volleys or a Super Explosive Wave.

Hope that helps!!

Lemmy, I swear, you need to work with Spike, on these Sparking! games. It's like you know all of the pros and cons, when it comes to character customization. I'm sure that the team that's working on those games would love your assistance.

To be completely honest, I would absolutely love the chance to work on a Sparking!-type game. It's a good engine-- the closest to DBZ yet-- that I think can be made even better with the proper tweaking. There's so much untapped potential in this series despite how well it already mirrors the anime, and with the way Raging Blast appears to be shaping up that potential will unfortunately continue to go to waste.

I mean, seriously. I can't even get a beam to follow my opponent, and that sort of thing happens in the series a lot.

As for knowing the game mechanics itself, well . . . I just play the shit. A lot. Competitively. When you have five people all vying to be champion of the same household, you tend to examine the gameplay very closely. :D

Well, I own both the PS2 and Wii version of this game, and while I've unlocked everything on PS2, I'm still working on winning some tournaments on the Wii. So, I've created the definition of spam. I would never competitively use it 'cause of its cheapness.

Mid Goku:

Rising Fighting Spirit (This is standard on all my characters)
Secret Measures
Spiritual Control

This of course means I can fire off the God Genki Dama at a frightening speed, and if I'm forced to fight because my opponent just won't let me use "Give me power!", then I just transform and kick ass.

My real default characters are Ultimate Gohan or Future Gohan depending on my mood, but I'm still working on good potara combinations for them.

Okay, you win. But I have even more guide ideas that you can steal from me. If I take all 160+ characters and pit each and every one of them against every other character, I'll eventually have a Special Conversations Guide. It will take forever, but WAHAHA it'll be great!

You could use it anyway, and I would still beat you. :D

In all seriousness, I wish that there were organized competitions for this shit. I would drive a considerable distance just to find fresh meat.

. . .

I had caffeine. Here's a guide.

B! & B2 EXPLOSIONS

There are three types of defensive explosions that can be activated during battle, each with its own share of strengths and weaknesses:

Explosive Wave is a B1 defensive manuever aimed at physical attacks that blows back your opponent when touched. It cycles quickly and gives the enemy little time to react to a possible counterattack when touched, but be forewarned: it's useless against any kind of energy attack.

Pro: Is quick to use
Pro: Can be used while being hit
Pro: Can defend against Rush Blasts
Pro: Can defend against Rushes

Con: Can't defend against B2 blasts or UBs

Special Note: Knock your opponent backward and then set him up for a Rush!

Super Explosive Wave is a B2 defensive maneuver that will block both physical and energy attacks, but Ultimate Blasts will still hit with full force even through the explosion. An opponent in MAX POWER who scrambles clear of the explosion can effectively render you a sitting duck.

Pro: Covers a much wider area
Pro: Can defend against Rush Blasts
Pro: Can defend against Rushes
Pro: Can defend against B2 blasts

Con: Can't be used while being hit
Con: Can't defend against UBs (with the singular exception of Cell's Perfect Barrier, which can in fact absorb UBs)

Special Note: Get near to your opponent and use the Super Explosive Wave offensively, or raise it in defense when they activate a Rush!

Barrier is a B1 defensive maneuver that blacks all incoming attacks in exchange for a time lag of about three seconds. It absorbs anything and everything, but also gives your opponent time to set up his next attack or use a B1 of his own.

Pro: Can be used while being hit
Pro: Can defend against Rush Blasts
Pro: Can defend against B2 blasts and UBs

Con: Is slow to use

Special Note: Activate the Barrier when being pummeled by a Spirit Bomb or other massive UB to negate the damage almost completely! Fuck you, Goku!

Well, anyone with half a brain would no what I'm doing and thus know simply fire a ki blast to stop my B1s from working. Thankfully, the computer isn't as smart.

Right now I'm using Miracle Sparking with Ultimat Gohan, but it's penalty of making MAX POWER/Sparking! mode last for a shorter period of time seem to counteract the effect. That, or my playstyle is a bit too aggressive to allow for the computer to get a hit in on me. I, like Rocketman, don't have any human opponents, so I can exploit the weaknesses of the computer.

It may be possible to combine Miracle Sparking, which shortens the duration of MAX POWER, with one of the various items that typically extends the duration to in fact get a normal duration rather than the "shortened" effect. I haven't tried this personally (although I guess it's something the me to do, waha), but it may work considering that combining other potara can produce other effects.

I know you've been BEGGING for it, so here's my setup for the lovely Videl and her kickass husband.

Aura Charge Green (Basically, green's my fave color. Plus, the ki-boost ain't bad either.)
Attack +2 Defense -1
Super +2 Power -1
King Kai's Training

And there you go. The setup I use for my two mains.

My faves are:
Cui (Use False Courage so you can't be interrupted and then use sleep to get a bunch of health back)
Yajirobe (Senzu bean is where it's at)
Freeza (So many transformations!)
Check out our home made films!
Lots of martial arts action and comedy.
