Probability of Viz releasing the rest of the Daizenshuu.

Post by CashmanX » Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:31 pm

If, By any chance, Viz decided to release the rest of the Daizenshuu, Would it be practical to dump the stuff that was in volume 10 into volume 5 And the stuff that was in 8 & 9 into 7?

It's not going to happen.

Rumor has it that the Complete Illustrations sold like shit. You can just give up all hope now.

Hopefully they'll realize that if they release some of the other Daizenshuu which contain slightly more...words (yeah, that's a good word for it) that fans would be more than willing to purchase their goods. It's not my problem (well, maybe it is...) that they released Daizenshuu #1, which contains the universal language of pictures (that, and I already owned it) opposed to #7, which I'd pay a decent price to have even in Japanese.

Viz has a habit of doing this sort of thing. They haven't released the other One Piece Color Walk books.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I suppose 10 might fit into 5, but I don't know how practicle that would be. I can't imagine Viz ever putting out 8 & 9 in a million years though. I mean, the DB Carddass game was never brought over to America, was it? I suppose they could make a guide to the American DB card game though.

It's not just a Viz thing in this case though. I've heard there are quite a few countries where Daizenshuu 1 has been realized without any of the others.

Isn't France the only country that got multiple Daizenshuu? The first one has been released in many countries.

My problem is I don't want to buy one daizenshuu, I want to buy all the daizenshuu. I'm a completest that won't start buying something till at least a second volume comes out.

Well, the US Daizenshuu 1 has no number, so if you buy it, you technically have a complete collection since they haven't restricted themselves to numbers. :P

I bought Daizenshuu 1 sometime around the first day it came out in English....*sigh*

But, I might tend to agree with the fact that it doesn't seem to have sold very well here in the US, unfortunately. :? I'm the only person I know in my casual group who bought this book.....in general I'm the only person who seems to appreciate anime/game art books and they always chalk that up to the fact that "You can draw and go to art school, of course you'd like art books!"

If I can dream, I'd love to own all of them aside from the Cardass books. In a language that doesn't take four times as long for me to read would be nice...but....oh well. I imagine one day I'll pony up and import them when I have money and have more free time to devote to slowly looking through them?

I got Daizenshuu 1 on DAY ONE.

I pray to God that Viz releases the rest.

Didn't Dr. Slump sold badly as well? One of those Shonen Jump/Young Jump series's that faded into obscurity like Bobobo, Kinninkuman Second Generations (Ultimate Muscle), I"s, Ichigo 100%, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Granted they still most of the titles, they're just not big sellers.

It makes me have less hope of Viz getting around to releasing supplemental books like the Daizenshuu and One Piece art books.

The Bobobo manga is still being released. The US Volume 3 comes out this February. And I wasn't aware that Dr. Slump sold poorly. I still see it on store shelves every now and then.

Well, considering One Piece is getting a speed up, I think the Colour Walks could see a release pending the sales of the new volumes during the speed up.

Dragon Ball, on the other hand, doesn't really have a chance to prove itself like that. Maybe when Kai gets dubbed, Viz will finally release the kanzenban, and if those sell well, the daizenshuu will continue to be released.

Well has anyone emailed VIZ and asked them? I've had a "thank you for this release" email in my drafts for forever now, and should probably get around to hitting the "send" button and throw in a question about future Daizenshuu hitting shelves over here.

I'm yet to pick it up, but that is probably because I'm only one Daizenshuu short of owning all ten (Curse you TV animation 3!) so while I would like to say I put my money where my mouth is, I didn't really bother this time around.

This has to do with the fact that hardly anyone actually friggen stocked it. :x

Seriously, I could not find anything beyond the first three volumes at any book store.
