And yeah, this was kind of a slow episode, but there was necessary stuff in there, so it's not like it was all filler or anything.

I'd forgotten how creepy some of Goku's nightmares can get. When that Buu-like goopy monster started choking him and it decided to open it's mouth...yikes. o_O;; I'm glad it cut away after that, I wouldn't want to see what it did to Goku.

It is only one week's slot for the World Cup highlights. So they're only taking one week off, meaning we have to wait two weeks until another new episode air, as we typically only have to wait a week. Also, just so people know, here's the schedule for the rest of the month. Maybe this visual will help people understand what's going on.

It got me thinking since I've seen other anime like Naruto, etc. to have double episodes from time to time, so I thought they could do it with Kai too, which would have been pretty sweet. Oh well.

Yeah, double episodes of Kai means taking a week off for One Piece, though I suppose One Piece could use the extra time to stay behind the manga. It's about fourty chapters behind, in terms of adaptation (and the next twenty or so chapters have all been huge two-page threads so that means they've got to spread less content).

It got me thinking since I've seen other anime like Naruto, etc. to have double episodes from time to time, so I thought they could do it with Kai too, which would have been pretty sweet. Oh well.

Naruto's double episodes take up Pokemon's time slot, and Pokemon's double episodes likewise take up Naruto's time slot. If Fuji TV did the same, you'd end up with as many double One Piece weeks as double Kai weeks, which doesn't really amount to more episodes of either.

Just saw the episode and what the hell? Most of the second half was filler. The Goku nightmare scene, the Gohan/Yajirobe/Bulma scene, all the wasted footage of Gero running for the hell of it. They could have just had Kuririn find the lab and continue on with 17 and 18 already. What a waste of time. Were they doing this to give Yaj's VA more lines or something? The Gero/Kuririn fight was also filler. He called the guy when Gero was in front of his lab, which would have been shown in the following episode anyways. They really could have crammed this ep in the first half anf have the second half deal with 17 and 18. Horrible paced episode.

It would also ruin the Dream 9 block of "one episode of Kai and one episode of OP", and I don't think they'd want to do that.

Just saw the episode and it had two main errors that the animators should have fixed. Vegeta's hands was colored like his skin rather than white, like his gloves and Trunks eyes as Super Saiyan has iris.
