The Fusion dance

I last saw the episode in which Goku showed the technique to Goten and Trunks a few years ago, but I can definitely remember him saying (just after he pointed his fingers) to "turn your knee".

Goten and Trunks, along with Goku and Vegeta, can fuse by just pointing their fingers, no turning of the knee is involved. So if they can merge by just pointing, then Kuririn and Piccolo should have been able to fuse.

1) Kuririn and Piccolo are of different height. I'm sure it is said that you have to be the same height in order to fuse (Goku / Vegeta doesn't count since it's only Movie 12 and GT)

2) Kuririn and Piccolo are not close in power. You need to be the same strength as the other guy to fuse

3) It's a magic number

This reminds me of something I read in a "when you´ve watched too much DBZ..." thread that goes like this:

"You´ve watched too much DBZ when you and your friend try the fusion dance... 30 minutes later you 'wake up' in a field full of the boddies of people you didn´t really like...

I'm pretty sure Goku states he and Vegeta could use the Fusion Dance.

Rocketman is correct on that. Piccolo asks Goku in the same episode if he was planning to perform the dance with Vegeta and he tells him yes.

I'm pretty sure they turned their knee's each time they fused.

Perhaps it just skipped showing the turning-of-knees.
I was voted "most unique" and "most likely to become the next existential thinker" in high school.

I think the requirements are these:

-Both people are of the same race

-Roughly the same size

-Make thier power match each other

-Do the dance motions correctly
