Re: The Dragon Ball recap
Are you referring to the short recap in episode one? They used the Kikuchi score for the recap. I'm not sure what piece(s) they used, but that orchestral Dragon Soul is not longer there in the Kikuchi replacement score.
So mondo lame.

M717 and M1307. To me, M1307 is extremely unfitting for Goku and Chichi's marriage.songohan619 wrote:What music did the Season sets use?

I wonder why they stopped using Dragon Soul ~Orchestra Ver.~, though.. It's just an orchestral remix of Dragon Soul, which isn't Yamamoto's own composition, and a part of the piece is reused in DragonBall Kai ~Eyecatch A~, which still is used in the replacement score version. Some phrases were added in the process of Yamamoto's arrangement, but they're so minimal.

This entire replacement score is just one big mess.

IMO, the recap would have been far better with M707 if they had been able to use the pieces that include phrases from the opening/ending songs in Z.

M929 doesn't sound half bad either when I synched it up. Of course, it would require some extending but it worked nontheless.kei17 wrote:So true.Gonstead wrote:This entire replacement score is just one big mess.

The replacement soundtrack was improperly used and with Mr. Nagasaki, things just got even worse.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
Re: The Dragon Ball recap
As I said many times, he isn't much involved in the replacement score version. Episodes done by him actually are better than the others because he tends to keep the original music placement in Z, like when Vegeta decides to charge the Final Flash.dbboxkaifan wrote:The replacement soundtrack was improperly used and with Mr. Nagasaki, things just got even worse.
