The most beautiful shots from the anime

Post by Cold Skin » Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:41 pm

I was wandering around the forum and just happen to see a picture of little Gohan crying with the sun in the background. I've also seen the Italian opening showing a picture of baby Goku as a shadowy figure being placed into his spacepod.

It made me think of the fact that sometimes the anime shows specific shots that could be featured in an artwork collection, so since most of you guys are much more familiar with the anime than me (since Kai is the only series I've seen from beginning to end), I was wondering: what are your favorite, most beautiful shots in the show? (it doesn't matter whether you judge on graphics, or emotional impact of the illustration, or artistic vision, or symbolic representation...) Basically the shots you could use in a an artwork collection, or as a book cover, or as a DVD cover, or as a chapter title or a promotionnal poster...

Feel free to share ANY shot you consider as among the most beautiful in your opinion.

Also, I apologize in advance for not posting in response to what you might post for a while, it's just that I'm leaving tomorrow for a three-weeks holiday with no connexion out there, and I'll try not to necropost if the thread has drown beyond the first forum page. But I assure you: it won't mean I'm uninterested in the very thread I created, you can be sure I'll eagerly check out what's been posted when I get back!

I always really liked how they made his tears flow up in that scene.

Some Kai shots in the intro looks fantastic.

Path to Power and Dead Zone look fantastic.

Miyahara Naoki's stuff is always great, so I'm not surprised to see his work on episode #184 being brought up. :P

In terms of over all art quality, I'd probably say Nakatsuru Katsuyoshi's work on the Kaiou-ken Son Gokuu from episode #70, just so I don't wind up repeating a Miyahara piece. Then again, I'm also very partial to Yamamuro Tadayoshi's work on episode #162:

These are great. I think the diagonal stance makes them better.

I've always liked the little flashback of Freeza vs SSJ Goku on Namek when Freeza notices SSJ Trunks has the same eyes as SSJ Goku. IMO those few seconds of animation looked really good.

Beautiful shot, ruined by horrible filters the person who uploaded it to YouTube placed upon it.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Shoulda been the end of the series with that battle. No Vegeta, no distractions, no fears on Gohan's part, everyone else is dead, just a one-on-one battle across the entire planet.

This is probably one of my many favorites, if someone could post the same image but from the Dragon Box version that would be awesome. Might even use it as my avatar if i can re-size it right.
