Italian DBGT Theme

Post by Kaboom » Mon Feb 20, 2006 9:44 pm

This may be a bit too random, but I found this...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Yjq9QFxJNbQ& ... nball%20gt

It's Italy's original theme for GT... and it's pretty interesting. Not as good as good ol' DAN DAN, but definitely a heckuva lot better than Funi's theme (then again, what isn't?).

Hey, that was really cool. I liked it a lot. The clips were put together really well. Better than theme songs we see for a lot of cartoons.

If you enjoyed that, tell me what you think of this. It's Blue Water's adaptation of DAN DAN, a lot better than FUNi's "Step into the Grand Tour".

The Italian themes are all amazing, and a great example of how the show can be treated in another country with an original theme song. "What's My Destiny?" is phenomenal.

Y'know, for some reason, GT's Italian opening felt more like a music video, rather than an opening. But that's not to say it wasn't good. As said before, the two openings were fantastic and actually focused on the theme of the series'.

The Italian openings are all like the GT opening. There are a lot of techno and english words.^^
Giorgio Vanni did make them. Also he made the themes for many other cartoons (new Masters Of The Universe, Batman Beyond / of the Future and so on).

I have to agree, "What's My Destiny" would have to be one of my favourite openings in any of the dubs.

I checked the site where you found that video, and I have to say it is awesome. Thanks for posting the link, because some of those videos I have never seen before. The site has special endings form DBGT, which is cool. Now that I heard the original japanese ending to the DBGT Gokuu Jr. special, I want to bash Funimation on the side of their head. :x

It almost brings tears to my eyes  , after hearing the original music. I mean who likes the DBGT rap. I love the japanese songs because they give you differnet feelings, like Cha-La-Head-Cha-La. Mike said that everytime he hears the part in the song about training a dinosaur to balance on a ball, it makes him feel happy. :D
Japanese: イタズラ好きな 君が 夢を競う ライバルになるのさ

Romanized: Itazura-zuki na kimi ga Yume o kisou raibaru ni naru no sa

English: You, who love mischief, Will become a rival competing for your dream!

I know what you mean even though being a dubbie the GT rap is crap (hey, that rhymes!) and I really love the Miracle Zenkai Power DBZ ending theme. It's so awesome and funny!

"Say bye bye bye Go-ha-n" !

For some reason I want to watch GT now.

But that was a bit too long for my liking, espeically for an intro.

That Intro is a lot better than the sad "Welcome to the Grand Tour!" crap that FUNimation gave us in America.

No, That was the opening to Dragonball Z before it was combined with Dragonball to make one big long series called "What is my destiny: Dragonball"

I don't really like the "Bursting through the clouds" song.

Edit: If you wanna hear "What is my destiny" you can see a video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdowwboBDbI

It's "What is my destiny" to the Budokai 3 opening, I like how the fusion part fits with the song. :D

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I remember coming across all of these themes years ago and wondering why we never got anything near this good from FUNi.

:O That song was so good though....

It's like when you're watching a well executed AMV and you see a part that makes you think "That was perfect" :D
