If they ever did another Blu-Ray release, I'd be fine with them just dumping their raw 4:3 film scans (damage, jitter, and all) onto a Blu-Ray and calling it a day.

The original video source (Orange Bricks) towards Volume 8 and Volume 9 actually looked pretty good but whoever done this, he fucked it up completely.

Seeing Vegeta with black blood is just weird.

Different from the Level Sets before it, the episode count on the Blu-ray Season Sets will be identical to their extremely popular DVD counterparts. Also different, is the restoration and re-mastering process being used. A bolder, more vibrant color palette is being used to produce a picture current, and future, televisions can take advantage of. The Blu-ray Season Sets will also come in a widescreen format. Precise shot-by-shot reframing of each scene has used to ensure the optimal picture when converting from its native, full screen format.

We want Dragon Ball Z to be a part of the modern, HD experience.

Don't tell me that after all this, they will go back to the Level sets kind of restoration... How it would make them look? If everything that they told us was true, we should not expect anything better than Seasons...

All of the Season BDs put together will look really cool as to how Dragon Ball Z's story progressed throughout. Not sure if anyone is actually considering to make a long poster out of this.

To be honest, these Season BDs' covers look a lot better than what we've got previously (OBs, Levels, Kai).

Judging by the square that we see on the side of the season blu ray http://imageshack.com/a/img62/5460/hqbv.jpg the final image seems like it will be a square rather than one long image, so season 4 will go under season 1 and season 5 under season 2 etc.

Yeah, but aren't (1 to 3), (4 to 6), and (7 to 9) all meant to be separate images? I hope they do GT and DB, and actually get film to restore. DB could have a huge five-season long image.

Well, they repeated the same mistake from the OB to the Season Blu-Rays. Maybe an eventual remaster to DB an GT would be more in the line of the Blue and Green Bricks.

By that logic we wouldn't need HD DBZ BDs because the majority of the customers are perfectly satisfied with the Orange Bricks.

Good point, but the casual viewers don't really care about DB as much and doesn't make as much money for FUNimation as DBZ does. They see Dragon Ball Z on the shelves, Blu-Ray and Widescreen on the cover and sold.

I tell my friends it's better than the Orange bricks, sharper, cleaner, but pretty much scrubbed clean from it's film source. The release doesn't look that bad when you're sitting several feet away from your TV, you'll obviously notice it if your right in front of a computer screen.

This has been my mindset all long. Yeah I think these look awful but I'm not too bothered about it, knowing we'll probably get a release for ourselves, and FUNimation knows what audience they're catering to.
