Are there any DBZ games similar to that of BlazBlue or GG?
Fanmade or not, are there any 2D dbz fighting games that share similar elements to games like BlazBlue or Guilty Gear or other similar fighting games ? Basically fast paced fighting games(in movement and and combos) that are also pretty combo heavy.

Nothing official of that calibre but one of our very own forum members is working on a MUGEN DBZ game that looks right up your alley:

Altough not fully 2D, you have Super DBZ, IMO the best DBZ game ever.

Hyper Dimension for the SNES was a step in that direction.

Extended for truth. And the answer is I wish. Iced's Mugen is the closest I've seen.Silkman3003 wrote:Fanmade or not, are there any 2D dbz fighting games that share similar elements to games like BlazBlue or Guilty Gear or other similar fighting games ? Arc System Works did make two supersonic Dragon Ball games.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Indeed. The Supersonic Warriors games are, in my opinion, just excellent. Though I don't know that they're up to snuff for the competitive scene. They're just so damn unique and fun; they're focused entirely on combating in the air with a full range of movement (on a 2D plain) and your specials aren't dependent on specific button combinations but rather your position relative to your opponent. I kind of like the first one a little more, but I don't think either is objectively a better game than the other.
Also, those MUGEN sprites look awesome. My first time seeing those.
Also also, I second the Hyper Dimension recommendation. I recently got my first real copy of the game and I'm very excited to own it finally.
