Why does Chaozu like Tenshinhan?

Chaozu emits immense disgust at Kuririn's lack of hair, so how can he enjoy Tenshinhan's presence who has a mutual trait?

If we go by pokemon logic then chaozu wouldn't like the turtle school students because water types can learn ice moves which they're weak against

So kriillin is a squirtle while chaozu is like a pidgey/starly/fletchling

Tenshinhan though? He's a motherflippin, honest to god Staraptor

I think Chaozu is more of a Psychic-type.

Puar is more of a flying-type IMO.

Has there been an origin story given out as to why Tenshinhan and Chaozu love each other so much? It seems like it never gets elaborated on.
