Rou Dai Kaioshin

Post by _Jrinu_ » Tue Sep 12, 2006 6:23 pm

I was browsing through Wikipedia earlier, and I noticed something interesting...

There's no page for Rou Dai Kaiōshin. This is our chance to help Wikipedia become a little more knoweldgeable.

So lets pull together and create this page.

Anything you guys want to submit, can really help it out. (Screen-Shots, bios, etc.)

Yes, but he doesn't have a page of his own, and he is sure important enough of a character to have one.

Maybe that's because there's no "Rôdaikaiôshin".
There's a "Daikaiôshin" (absorbed by Boo) and an old ("Rô") "Kaiôshin" (sometimes referred to as "Daikaiôshin" in the TV series, I think? odd).

Rou Dai Kaiōshin, is the elder kai.

You know... The old dude that came out of the sword?

I think Oliver's trying to say the name is wrong, but isn't sure if it is or not.

I have no idea of his Japanese name, in the anime or the manga, but he's refered to as "Great Elder" by Supreme Kai/Kaioshin and Kibito a bunch of times in the dub. But I don't know if that's directly from Roudaikaioshin or not. I mean, does Funimation need a reason to change things?

The point I'm trying to make here, is that this character has an empty page on Wikipedia, and we have a chance to create a good one, before other fans mess it up.

Wikipedia is a joke IMO, and even moreso in things related to Dragonball. No matter what you do, some joker will mess it up.

It isn't nessecary for every fictional character to have their own page. "Old Kai" as I've always called him, probably doesn't need a page to himself.

That would the old ("Rô") Kaiôshin.
There never was a "Rôdaikaiôshin".

Oh, I'm sure it's wrong.

Same can be said of any open source project, but that doesn't necessarily mean they should all be discredited. Wikipedia is a good source of information, and there are safeguards that can be invoked (protection of articles from anonymous edits, etc). Still, it shouldn't be used as a sole source of information, which is why it requires articles to list their sources and link them if possible.

BTW, I don't think Ro-Kaioshin needs his own page. He can be summarised in a paragraph or so, which hardly warrants an entire entry. And Olivier is right, the heirarchy of the Heavens indicates there is one Dai-Kaioshin, who was absorbed by Boo (creating Fat Boo), and several Kaioshin. Ro-Kaioshin, that was trapped in the sword, is the same as our Kaioshin aside from his age and potara fusion with a witch.

I would love to help make a page for him, but the existing set of info on that page for lots of characters just seems to cover it well enough. Sorry.
