WOw.... I saw the Toryiama interview video. I like his reply on how much did his son play Super Famicom.... Toryiama:*with a sullen face* "Everyday..." It's great to see him in person! I was beginning to think he really was a robot... either that or some talented supercomputer in a military bunker somewhere....

I saw another DBZ Eyecatch parody where after coming back from a commercial break you usually see Goku sitting with his back facing you and Gohan peaks from under his arm. Instead Bardock takes Goku's place and it's Goku as a kid in place of Gohan.... it was really cool but sadly the youtube vid was deleted by the user. :(

Obviously, it's a cooking anime. Seriously, though, the anime used for this clip was probably an older show that never got syndicated out of Japan. As awesome as it (and a bunch of other anime/manga I've heard about) is, I think the only way to be able to get this show is from Japan itself or from online. Which is a real shame, because I'm interested in seeing more of this particular show... :<

And just to make this post seem slightly on-topic... damn, that cook kid looks a lot like Goku. I ponder the connections... :3
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

Saiyan wrote:Yeah..I was looking at that. What's the whole point of that again? And why does Goku stop fighting Freeza? What was the point of Arlong showing up? And why can't Krillin and Gohan not hold up a ball building thing, and Tetsuwan Atom can (I don't really know this show that well).

So many questions for such a short clip..
It's assumed Goku pretty much beat up Freeza. Arlong was (I guess) trying to set up Arlong Park there or something and just wanted to get rid of the Straw Hats. Why couldn't Kuririn and Gohan lift the ball? Cause while they may have super strength, they are still human. :P (Well..half-human in regards to Gohan), while Atom is an android.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must now change my pants because of all of these awesome, rare videos.

Now that I think about it, it does remind me of Ranma for some reason?

Well I found out the origin of that Roshi clip, if anyone even cares anymore...

Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZU5zua1MSc

At 2:49 there is a commercial for a Dragonball Z phone game. It has animation clips and the same logo that was on the bottom of the screen of the Roshi clip is on these clips as well.

Actually, wasn't it in the game itself? I saw it in one of the parts where Muten-Roshi asked "Who has the Makankosappo technique?" or something similar and it gave you a list of three choices (one being Roshi himself.)

Yeah, it was in the game.

pekinduck posted a link to the actual game footage somewhere back in the thread. The Makankosappo clip was in there as part of the full feature.

I'm pretty sure someone here wants this thing Teribikko thing subbed. I have the original file, from before it was uploaded to youtube. If anyone has some sort of script, I can get this thing subbed for all to enjoy. I'm sure even VegettoEX would want to see this subbed, so he could fully understand it.

Inside the animation studio for DBGT. Anyone know where all these videos are springing up from? Who's "Peking Duck" VegettoEX?
AWESOME! At the end, we see when Trunks, Pan and Goku's VA's record their lines! If anyone could sub these videos :)

Edit: this thread should be sticky!

The first one was kinda strange, but I spazzed when I saw Atom/Astro Boy. What the hell is he doing in a feature with contemporary anime characters? I know they came out with a new show for him in the past few years, but it seems kinda strange nonetheless. I mean, my MOM's familiar with him, and she's near 50! He's like one of those classics that should be admired in a showcase or something rather than mixed in with modern pop culture. That's like introducing The Beatles to My Chemical Romance
?

You said yourself they released an updated version of the series. This promotional movie first ran in 2003 in the Fuji TV station in Odaiba during their Summer Adventure promotion. That was exactly the same time that the AB animation was airing.

Furthermore, you must consider to whom the animation must appeal to. There's a lot of parents and grandparents bringing young ones to the event (I was there so I speak from personal experience) and it's nice to have something that's very familliar to everyone. It's no coincidence that Kochi Kame was in the second one because that's essentially the same idea.

OMG Toriyama's voice!
He's alive! He exists for real! Toriyama-Sama! It's him!

Seriously, he seems kind of shy for being a celebrity. Look on how he holds his hands and looks away from the one questioning him every now and then.
Umm, believe it or not he is a human being. People hype him up like he's god or something.Sure he made a great series (based off another story), but its not like he cured cancer or anything... I'm so dead right now aren't I?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

It's not like people think he's god.

It's just that he hardly ever does any kind of interview (especially video ones). So to see him in (and I quote EX  ) "moving form speak" is just quite a rare and exciting thing.
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.
