If you salted a Namekian, would they shrivel up?

In the Legacy of Goku II game if you scan a Namekian with a scouter it considers them more akin to plant beings. I would assume that is true considering they only drink water and I would assume "slugmen" would eat leaves? But I doubt they would have such a horrible weakness. Piccolo would already be out of the game with Goku's sweaty body crawling down his throat. XD

Salt kills slugs and snails due to osmosis; the water in their bodies is drawn out and they dehydrate to death. Namekians would suffer the same fate if the water inside them can pass out of their skin, but apart from going by the puns, their skin seems more similar to a humans than a slugs or snails, so I think they'd be fine. Unless the salt got in their eyes. That would sting.

Just think how much quicker movie 4 would have gone by if someone had thought to try this on Slug. Set Gohan up to whistle, Goku flies in with the saltshaker, BOOM. Crisis averted, the Earth is saved!

...Is it sad that a small part of me would actually truly prefer this over them re-using the Genki Dama as the final move yet again for that movie?
