Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

German publisher Universum Anime just announced that it has licensed Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods for Germany. The movie will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and as Video on demand sometime between April and June 2015.
I find it kind of surprising that it's not KAZÉ (the company which released the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT series on DVD in Germany) who got the license

Still think they should go with Bierus and Whis as the names (sadly expecting Bills and Wiss). But, good to see it has begun to make its way around Europe with the French announcement and now Germany. Hopefully they can get a majority of the originals back (from what I've heard on my own the German cast was already solid) and get the extended cut like us and the French dubs.

Yeah, Bills would be the worst case. I just posted on Universum Anime's Facebook page to make them aware of the name puns, and to make sure they don't call him "Bills".

Fourth week video sales.

It sold 17,247 copies on Blu Ray which is only a little less than last week. They do keep adjusting the previous weeks sales though.

It's no longer on the combined sales chart but it'd be around 164,000 copies sold and a total of around $4.0 million.

Oh wow, are they dubbing it too? Edit: they are, and they're trying to get the old va's back.

I also find it curious it's not Kazé distributing this as they're going to (not officially yet) in France!

Awesome if they could bring back the old va's. I live in Denmark but grew up watching Dragoball on RTL2 so I prefer the German dub over the Japanese and English. Can't wait!

Come to think of it, did he have the really big eye-shape like in the Babidi-esque expression anywhere in the movie proper, or was it just that one early art?

There were a couple of scenes where he had that awkward design quirk, but they were very few and far between.

One maybe in-universe question. What or who is Whis exactly? Is he part of the Kaioshin godly race apart from Makaioshin, or he is just a God being that doesn't have any origin, only to be Beerus' attendant?
