I didn't see it being racist until other people pointed it out. I always thought Uub wanted a healthy snack .

That was my initial impression as well. I guess I am biased as I never had to deal with the "Watermelon stereotype" as a white person but it seems like people in the comments are making a mountain out of a mole hill. If Salagir and Asura wanted to they could easily edit the page to depict . . . I dunno a Honeydew or a Cantaloupe.

As an African American I can say safely that while Watermelon loving is a racist stereotype we face it is one of the down played ones and anyone would a brain would be able to see the joke between Buu and the Watermelon.

The fat that Oob himself is Indian and not Black makes the joke even less racist and I find it more racist if people are assuming Oob is black personally.

Pretty sure "black" is being used to mean "of African descent" rather than "anyone with a darker brown skin tone" here, considering that the watermelon thing is a stereotype that's directed specifically at African-American people, not anyone who happens to have darker skin.

But yeah, it'd be pretty silly if anyone seriously assumed Uub turning Buu into a watermelon was intended to be a race-related joke, especially considering that the "black people LOVE watermelon" stereotype doesn't seem to exist where Salagir is (not surprising, it's mostly an American thing, more specifically a Southern thing. I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone in, say, Alaska had never heard of it, let alone another country.) It's just a pretty simple "Uub's from a small tropical-ish village and prefers fresh tropical-ish fruit to cakes and candy, plus Buu is huge and round like a watermelon" sort of thing.

He's pretty much a more severe version of Goku. He learns technics faster than him, but is far more stupid in day to day stuff.
