Also, my Super Season Sets arrived and are now on my shelf next to my steelbooks. You're right about the cases being slick and I'm happy to own them alongside the steelbooks.

Also, when it comes to the scratches you're talking about, I came across some myself, but since I ordered from Crunchyroll and eventually Amazon, I was able to swap out the discs and cases that had scratches on them. That's the only benefit that came with ordering from Crunchyroll.
Yeah. I just wish there was a disc replacement program by Crunchyroll so you can email them, tell them what discs you have are scratched, then they send you replacements ASAP. I spend $160+ on the steelbook set & to get it with scratched & fingerprint-smudged discs right out of the shrinkwrap is extremely disappointing & shouldn't be happening at all. At the very least, the people packaging the discs in the cases should be wearing cloth gloves so they don't leave fingerprints & should be very careful putting the discs in the cases as well so they don't scratch, as well as shouldn't be putting scratched discs in them. It's really stupid.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Wow, how is fingerprints and scratches even possible?

I have no fucking clue. Granted, the fingerprint was on 1 of the discs & the scratches are minor except on 1 of the discs where they look like circular scratches that look below the surface. I really should watch the discs, as I believe most of them are fine minus that one, but we'll see.

Well, Crunchyroll's February 2023 solicitations are out and STILL NO RELEASE DATE FOR SUPER HERO. Like what the hell, at this point. Interestingly enough, however, is that they're re-releasing Dragon Ball GT in a "new" DVD set (https://store.crunchyroll.com/collectio ... series-dvd). And by new I mean, it LITERALLY looks like they're just copy and pasting the old GT sets but adding their Crunchyroll logo on it. Just like they did with the Super double-season sets. Not adding anything new, just slamming a new company logo on it. Like, seriously, GT on Blu-ray would've been nice since it's been over a decade since Funimation did anything with it, but no, we get a re-issue of an already widely available and cheap costing set. But only now, it's more expensive.....

On a positive note, I do like that they're using the Japanese logo for it, which does signal a complete shift in how the company views GT now versus the "Step into the grand tour!" days. And it does at least look like it might be a steelbook version of GT, which is pretty nice. Anyway, don't be surprised if the original Dragon Ball series gets re-released but with nothing new other than the Crunchyroll logo slapped on.

I think it'd take Toei themselves remastering GT in HD for them to release it on that over here, which I'd prefer to FUNi/Crunchyroll doing any remastering work. I'm kinda surprised Toei hasn't done that since GT's only 64 episodes & a double length TV special, so it wouldn't cost too terribly much or take a lot of time to do.
I think they just used the Japanese logo because of how they redesigned the set entirely & chose to use the one that's in the footage of the opening sequence. I don't think it's a steelbook without seeing it in front of me or actual product pictures, though. I think it's a regular 12-disc DVD case with a slipcover, which is much better than the shitty digipack releases.

Kind of late on this, but yesterday, Crunchyroll revealed when Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is coming out (https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/ ... u-kaisen-0). March 2023. SEVEN MONTHS AFTER ITS NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE. I guess they had to wait until AFTER Japan released it this month, maybe? Kind of lame we don't get a 4K Blu-ray release like Japan did, but hey at least we're getting it finally. I'll buy the Crunchyroll release alongside the Japanese version, if I can. Seeing how Funimation used to handle releases and now how Crunchyroll is, has made me more of an international collector (in addition to domestic).

I don't need Super Hero in 4K, I just want a release with no green tint so I hope someone with connections will be able to pull some strings and get that fixed. When Manga UK were releasing Super Broly Ajay advised they fixed a subtitling error on the US release which had Paragus say Broly is going to be killed rather than "I'll be killed by Broly", so it is possible.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I mean, FUNi has always had to wait till after the JP release to the last 3 movies before it. Battle of Gods had to wait a year due to, supposedly, licensing it from Fox to dub it, Res F got close with an October 20th release after the JP release was on the 7th, & Super Broly was actually surprising to release in April rather than in June or later of 2019. Maybe THAT'S why their release had the green tint. I hope if they do a rerelease, Crunchyroll can release it without the tint on the discs. And, considering Crunchyroll's new to the home video market, I'm not surprised they're still getting used to things. Though, considering FUNi had been doing their own shit for over 20 years by this point, I'm surprised they don't have things down pat.

I also forgot to mention this release doesn't even come with digital, which is ridiculous at this point (especially since Broly did back in 2019), in my opinion. So no 4K and no digital??? Get with the times, Crunchyroll. It's going to be 2023 in two weeks! Man, they're dropping the ball here.

I don't know anything about Crunchyroll but will I be able to get this off Amazon or will I have to buy it from their online store?

To think CR is a worse company for the dragon ball license than funimation was... I never would have guessed.

So, the digital version of Super Hero was put up on Amazon yesterday & both the subbed & dubbed versions were initially listed at $2.99, but with a discount to $1.99. I got the dubbed version for that & it's really funny that they let that happen before correcting the price.

Still green tint issue, there are torrents out there with it fixed but none of them are in English dub
