"Dragon Ball Super" Blu-Ray Correction Thread

Post by Psykomatik » Sat Sep 09, 2017 2:35 pm

Dragon Ball Super isn't always great. Sometimes, because of schedule issue, the art and animation sucks. And while it's not often, there are moments when the show shows horrendous arts...
That's why Toei decided to deliver some corrections on the blu-ray release! And here there are!

[BLU-RAY BOX #1 - EPISODE 001 TO 012]

[BLU-RAY BOX #2 - EPISODE 013 TO 024]

[BLU-RAY BOX #3 - EPISODE 025 TO 036]

[BLU-RAY BOX #4 - EPISODE 037 TO 048]

[BLU-RAY BOX #5 - EPISODE 049 TO 060]

[BLU-RAY BOX #6 - EPISODE 061 TO 072]

[BLU-RAY BOX #7 - EPISODE 073 TO 084]

Awesome idea. It would be easier to find all the corrections this way.

"That's why Toei decided to deliver some corrections on the blu-ray release! And here there are!"

Lack thereof. Maybe I'm forgetting due to only being exposed to corrections in the animation catalog thread when a blu-ray box came out and discussion went and gone but the amount of episodes listed as uncorrected bothers me. I'm not saying Toei should have gone and re-animate entire scenes but I know there are a lot of art that could have used corrections, especially in the Future Trunks arc; mainly doing with hair.

Rant aside, THANK YOU. I've been wanting a thread like this because all I get are youtube videos from the same scenes from the Spanish speaking fans or articles discussing episode five's fixes. Keep it up

Fantastic thread, Psykomatik.

I'm not surprised there were more corrections to Episode 5 than we originally thought. That episode was rough as hell.

Been looking for something like this for weeks as Latin American fans in YouTube somehow believe that Toei redid everything. Thank you.

It still baffles me that they spent effort "fixing" stuff that wasn't atrocious (Bulma in episode 25) instead of stuff that needed it the most (episode 24).

Maybe they thought it would have taken less time or less work if they corrected episodes that didn't have that many animation issues instead of episodes that needed to have many corrections like episode 24.

It might just have been that #25 was more important than #24 which was an entire episode dedicated to the warm up match. I don't think it is that baffling.

It is for me. Rewatching the first two sagas because of the Lat Am dub (they destroyed the third ending), I can tell how embarrassing Super was back then. Episode 25 looked good for its first half; bad on its second. Episode 24 looked bad throughout.

Good idea creating a thread for this, because this would always be lost in the animation thread. Keep it up!
A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.

I'm glad this thread exists, it'll be a nice tool.
Look forward to seeing what corrections are in the newest release.
Image
good call and job on this one from Tate? Look like his work.

But this one I think the TV one was way better:
