I expect a true announcement in a few days, probably during the FighterZ tournament as they said there will be an announcement to please all DB fans there.
Now all that’s left is to see if it will indeed happen in April. I’m quite sure it will, because if the rumours of a pre-production happening in October are true, then it would have 6 months and possibly even more of pre-production, which are enough to ensure the show has an healthy schedule unlike Super.
It seems like this will still be called Super: I wonder if they will add a subtitle, as they did for Kai, or if they will make a new logo, like the one featured in the movie (why was that even there?). I would certainly hope they will try to differentiate it a little from the first Super, especially if we consider this will most likely keep the whole aesthetic and designs for Broly as they certainly won’t be trashing the incredibly well-received, animation friendly designs from Shintani who was handpicked by Toriyama, and who worked for months on those designs with direct feedback from Toriyama himself.
I currently doubt they will want to retell Broly, as the movie is way too recent and falls under the Super’s name and they probably wouldn’t want to risk another poor reception from the fans from yet another movie retelling.
I also don’t think the Galactic Prisoner Arc from the manga will be animated because I feel like with Toyotaro being the writer of it, he probably hasn’t finalised the whole story yet and Toriyama still has lots of stories to tell, so I would hope he has already written a new one for the new Super.
