Dragon Ball New Hope

Post by Hellspawn28 » Fri Jan 06, 2023 3:42 am

I recently discover a fan manga that is set in another timeline where Cell won, but Kuririn didn't die. Kuririn trains Goten to become stronger and fight Cell. I do have some minor nit picks for this comic, but I still enjoy it. Probably the first fan manga that I enjoy in a while.

If you had checked the extensive and frequently updated Dragon Ball Fan Comic/Manga/Doujinshi Compilation thread, you would've discovered it sooner 8) . It's still a good comic .

I really like the art. I don't like that characters can age in the after life.

I’m noticing a lot of traced panels but overall it’s good. Not a fan of Goten’s characterization though.

I can accept the afterlife logic of no eternal babies.

Goten's personality is basically kid Trunk's so yeah, its really off but I can ignore it. Chichi is cool so far. I havent finished reading it yet. Feels like the dialogue got run through google translate. So much of it feels stiff and awkward. Wish that was fixed, its my biggest complaint so far

Nice art. Traced, but at least it looks consistent and pretty. Neat idea for a story and Kuririn is the best.

I don't like that characters can age after death.

Also, Son Goten is annoying.

From what I understand it seems like only children age into adulthood then stop. Unless I skipped a dialogue bubble somewhere.

New chapter is up

I liekd it. Not a fan of Future Gohan being friends with Videl. I don't like it when another timeline is too similar to the main one. They should have used Future Mai instead seeing that both Gohan and Mai are adults.

I enjoy it. Though I wasn’t a big fan of the needless Goten shafting, Cyborg Krillin using Kaioken and tri-beaming Cell into oblivion is one of the best things to ever come out of DB fan-mangas. Cell being too complacent in his lack of training has me a bit irked, but given his immense latent potential courtesy of Freeza’s cells, I guess it was for the best it didn’t have a Multiverse-like conclusion.
