Recently I've been doing some more research on the Macedonian dub, which is a dub I'm proud to say thanks to home releases is not completely lost (although much of later Dragon Ball is and Z aside from one clip that was shared nearly a decade ago). I've learned a few new things about this dub and it's distribution along the way, but to list all the reasons this dub is an interesting piece of Dragon Ball's history in Europe:
- It is based on the Japanese version (which was common for Dragon Ball dubs in the Balkans whereas the dubs in Northern Europe were based on the French dub)
- It was preceded by the Serbian dub which by some accounts began in late 2001
- It was self-produced by the broadcaster A1
- Son Goku is referred to as "Son Joke-U" like the Kosovar Albanian dub (according to fans who have seen it)
- There was a VCD release (published by A1's magazine Justifiably Present)
- Previously I was of the impression episodes 1-66 were released on VCD (especially after reading accounts like these of A1 airing 66 episodes) as there was 22 discs with presumably 3 episodes each, but from talking to a fan who catalogued the VCDs they are also inconsistent in terms of content, some discs have 3 episodes, others have 2 episodes
- The 4th and 5th VCDs are dupes (both have episodes 9,10,11 so episodes 12-14 are skipped) and the 6th VCD starts with episode 15
- The 7th VCD ends with episode 53 but the disc after starts at episode 101
- The 18th and 19th VCDs are nearly dupes (both discs have episodes 101 and 102)
- A1 said on their old website 150 episodes were dubbed of original Dragon Ball (this may be rounding up or a clerical error)
- Adult Goku is voiced by a woman (Hristina Grkova) making this one of the few international dubs to have this casting choice
- We know this from this clip that was shared many years ago of Goku meeting King Yemma, which as far as I know is all that has been found of the Macedonian Z dub, but since it was put out there hopefully someone has a recording of the full episode or maybe more episodes of Z
- According to several accounts the dub finished during the Namek arc, namely when Vegeta fights Zarbon
Cast

Hopefully in time more of this dub will be found and we can learn more about it, but for now I'm glad for all we do know about it.
