Following the debut of Dragon Ball Super in July 2015, it was announced that the first all-new TV series for the Dragon Ball franchise in 18 years would be available on home video that December. Similar to the Majin Boo arc of Dragon Ball Kai, Toei opted to produce identical box sets in both Blu-ray and DVD formats, with both coming packaged with an exclusive special booklet. The box sets were designed and packaged by Happinet Pictures.

TV Series Complete Box Collections
In promotion of the then-upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, Toei announced it would be releasing larger collections compiled from the series’ previously released box sets. As compilation collections, the disc content is identical to the previous Dragon Ball Super Blu-ray and DVD home video releases, with identical disc/episode counts and and all previously included bonus material. Each part comes with a re-edited booklet, which primarily contains recycled material from previous booklets.
