Kanzenshuu – The Podcast

Your one and only Dragon Ball podcast!

Our “weekly” podcast, then named Daizenshuu EX – The Podcast, began in November 2005 as a new way to reach out to our audience, extend that audience, and simply have fun with the franchise we love so much. Though we updated the name to Kanzenshuu – The Podcast in April 2012 with the launch of this website, we remain the best, most authoritative, entertaining, and only Dragon Ball podcast you will ever need!

Each episode, the Kanzenshuu staff discuss the latest news in the world of Dragon Ball from across the globe before heading into a core topic — whether it be an in-depth discussion of the way in which the story and franchise was produced, theories for in-universe scenarios and “What If?” scenes, interviews with those actually involved with the franchise, thorough reviews of video games or home video releases, we have you covered! We wrap things up with the month’s upcoming releases, questions from the listeners, and much more! We regularly have contests, broadcast live (watch our Twitter and Facebook!), and have a great time sharing our love of the Dragon Ball franchise with you all each and every week.

Podcast Episode #0274 — 11 October 2011

Many of you long-time podcast listeners have already told us that you view this episode as the “end of an era”. Over four years ago, we set out to go through the Dragon Ball manga volume-by-volume and review it to the best of our ability, and from a few different angles. We had a few of us that had already read the entire thing, some that were mostly fans of the TV version, and our buddy Jeff who was a complete outsider that had a vague familiarity via the old fansubs days and the occasional domestic TV broadcast, but was otherwise coming in entirely fresh with no preconceptions.

Here we are at the final volume, and our final “Manga Review of Awesomeness”. It has been an incredible journey for all of us involved, and I can only hope that you have enjoyed it every bit as much as we have. Whether you are a new listener or have been with us since long before the podcast ever existed as a part of this website, there is a wealth of listening material for you to dig back into, and we could not be more proud.

Thank you, Dragon Ball…! Download the show now, or head on over to the podcast page for more information or to subscribe.

We hinted at it last episode, and decided to go full-force with it this week: just what is the history of the Saiyan race?

From the manga to the TV series to the guide books to the various other adaptations and reference materials, what is said about where the come from and how they evolved? What types of plot holes are created, fixed, and then broken all over again by the increased amount of information tossed out there? Does any “fact” stay consistent throughout the entire series at all? Download the show now, or head on over to the podcast page for more information or to subscribe.

Podcast Episode #0271 — 18 September 2011

This time around on the show, we finally got a chance to catch up on this summer’s three-part spin-off manga from Naho Ooishi, Episode of Bardock.

Penned as a sequel to the Bardock TV special, Ooishi gets a little more of a chance to shine with a quasi-original story as opposed to her usual retreads. Is this the true legend of the Super Saiyan that we have all been curious about for so many decades, or is it just another fluff piece of media that we can all casually pass over without missing much? Download the show now, or head on over to the podcast page for more information or to subscribe.

I profusely apologize for not doing so during the podcast episode itself, but amazing thanks go out to John for a donation that covered the balance on the orders and shipping costs to cover this special release. In addition to the podcast episode this week, we have a full extravaganza coming to our “Reviews” section very soon!
