In Age 762, Nappa and Vegeta were defeated by the recently revived Goku and comrades, however there were several casualties including Yamcha and Piccolo. With Piccolo's death, the Earth's Dragon Balls became unusable and Bulma, Kuririn and Goku's son Gohan traveled to Piccolo's home planet, Namek, in hopes of finding new Dragon Balls there.
