Chazke Village is a fictional location in the world of Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama. The location, implied to be somewhere in the general region of Mount Paozu, was featured in Dragon Ball Z Episode 170, written by Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Imperfect Cell attacked this area while powering up to fight the other artificial humans, it was later selected as the location of the Bourbon's Shelter Dome.

General Overview
Chazke Village's location is unknown, except that Son Gohan visited it while searching for an open market to buy ingredients while staying at home during the rest period before the Cell Games. It was located in a deeply wooded area near a fast-flowing but muddy river. The town's design and architecture most closely resembled the American "Old West" stereotype with low, wooden buildings and saloon-style swinging doors. Additionally, the village name and all signs appeared to be in English. In his brief trip to the village, Gohan passed a coffee shop, a dry goods store, and other buildings whose names were not fully visible.

In Age 767, the village was attacked by Imperfect Cell, killing much of the population. By the lead-up to the Cell Games, the village had been mostly abandoned with Bourbon's men in effective control of the area. He had selected this village as the site to build the Shelter Dome as it was believed that Cell would not attack the same area twice.

Name
Chazke Village's name is based on a Japanese rice dish, chazuke (茶漬け). Although the name resembles the Yiddish (and Jewish-English) term chachke, meaning a trinket or small item, this is believed to be a coincidence.

Production
Due to the production schedule inherent in producing a weekly anime series based on a weekly comic, the writers of Dragon Ball Z interjected anime-only material both as a means of extending the runtime and to flesh out the Dragon Ball universe. Chazke Village was one of several locations created to elaborate on the period just before the Cell Games.
