In the year 20XX, following the invention of the collapsible [[Viewtiphone]] phone-tablet device, and its attachable BV-X game controllers, eSports have become an extremely popular global pastime. Among the most popular spectator games is the traditional fighting game, ''[[Dragon Ball FighterZ]]''. A young boy named [[DeSpo FighterZ#Major characters|Mamoru]], the son of a candy company owner, sets out to begin assembling his own team of players for the national Team ''FighterZ'' tournament. Meanwhile, Mamoru is so startled by experiencing the aura of a pro-gamer that he wets himself. A man with a microphone and headset appears behind him to ask him please not to get pee on the “stage.” Decked out with the character for “judge” on his forehead, this is Judge Man, a mysterious figure who appears wherever eSports are played, and quietly disappears once the match is over. Using the special [[eSpots Projector]] that only he possesses, he can display matches in the air.

Kenzo is furious. He’s sure he was moving the character. Shindo scolds him. If he can’t create an opening, he’ll never be able to land an attack. Shindo is absolutely controlling the pace of the match and finishes Kuririn off as well. Judge Man wonders if anyone can stop Shindo.

Kenzo calls for a time out. Judge Man begins to tell him it’s not allowed, but Shindo interrupts to say he doesn’t care. Kenzo calls out to Mamoru and requests more candy. After chowing down, he declares he'll be able to concentrate. Shocking everyone with his new sense of composure, Kenzo reaffirms his intention to win. Mamoru thinks his new aura to Goku's. At this moment, Kenzo has fully shifted his fighting spirit into the game!

Kenzo’s final character, Goku, flies onto the screen. Shindo shouts that whatever Kenzo’s thinking, it’s all bluster. Goku charges Hit and Hit vanishes. Shindo declares this the end. However, Kenzo declares this to be exactly the opening he was waiting for. Time after time, Kenzo has been watching Shindo’s finger movements as he prepares his vanishes and has replaying them in his head. He warns Shindo not to underestimate the "Back Alley Saiyan."

Goku catches Hit and begins unleashing a furious combo. Judge Man announces that Kenzo’s attacks are the same as Shindo’s before. Goku fires off his special technique, the [[Kamehameha|Super Kamehameha]], and defeats Hit.

Under Shindo’s own conditions, Judge Man declares Kenzo the winner. Kenzo can hardly believe he won. Shindo says he was utterly defeated, so per their agreement, Kenzo has the right to hit him as much as he pleases. Mamoru can’t believe what he’s just seen. Sure enough, he was right to believe in Kenzo’s battle sense. However, he's shocked to see Kenzo coming his way. Kenzo announces he’s joining Mamoru’s team, to both Mamoru and Shindo's surprise. Kenzo declares that next time he’ll beat all three fighters. Until then, their promised fistfight can wait.

Shindo grins and begins to walk away. The game was fun, wasn’t it? Kenzo tells him not to be stupid. To him it was only a match.
