Somewhere far away in the universe, Guarana and the staff aboard his ship come across a [[Super Dragon Balls|Super Dragon Ball]]. Guarana demands that this be reported to headquarters, but they are interrupted when they spot two individuals — [[Champa]] and [[Vados]] — outside of the ship. Guarana and his subordinates watch in horror as one of the two individuals raises a finger.<ref name=super4></ref>

Out on [[Planet Freeza No. 17]], [[Tagoma]] reports to [[Sorbet]] that Guarana's ship has been taken out by some unknown force. [[Shisami]] is in disbelief, noting that Guarana is the second-strongest in the remnants of [[Freeza]]'s army.<ref name=super4></ref>

Guarana's name is likely taken directly from the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guarana Brazilian "''guaraná''" fruit] (ガラナ ''garana''), or more specifically the natural energy drinks infused with the caffeine producing ''guaraná'' seeds that have become quite popular in Japan.
