Mohito's name is likely derived from [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojito| Mojito] (モヒート/''Mohiito''), a Cuban cocktail that consists of white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. The character name drops the second syllable's vowel elongation and replaces it with the actual vowel. While both can appear the same when romanized, this modification does alter its pronunciation.
