I really liked the first two episodes. Once they went into an inferior telling of a movie I really liked that's when this started to lose me.

Yeah the portrayal of Beerus is something I started complaining about in the 2nd episode. Feels like a totally different character in Toei's hands.

So more or less this is what would have happened if Toriyama wasn't sick of Dragon Ball back in the day. Like he's decided to go back to the point where he gave up and start from there.

If I remember correctly Toriyama wrote way more for Battle of Gods than could possibly be in a movie. What if this is just that? A long form version of that movie.
