The Japanese dub, in the Goku/Piccolo scenes at least, did give me a feeling that I was at least watching something resembling Dragon Ball, even it was slight. I'll be honest, though. Nothing is going to redeem this movie in my eyes.

My guess is that after airing it through a couple of times, they decided to fill its time with something else rather than just rerunning it over and over again. Dragon Ball reruns were always Toonami's specialty.
