Re: Best VIZ release of the Manga?
Quick update: I ordered a few VIZBIGs (Dragon Ball 2-4). Skipped vol. 1 because I have 3-in-1 vol. 1 as a stand in for now. I'll replace it later. Though now that I think about it, I should've gotten it for a direct comparison lol. Oh well. That's great! I have all the VizBigs and they are great to...

Re: Best/Your Preferred Dragon Ball Releases (DVD, Blu-Ray.etc)
Dragon Ball: Blue Bricks. I meant what can you go wrong 4x3, uncut, and convenient to get. They have a few problems such as the zoomed in, the colors are a little off, those classic NEPs and Japanese title cards are gone but those problems are small in comparison to Funimation's other releases *Coug...

It was made with the country's made dub at least in North America. I am not sure about other places, but they probably used their country's made dub.

Re: Re-watching the entire anime, do you get bored?
Yes, especially if I am re-watching episodes that didn't have any big events or mainly composed of filler. Kai makes it a lot more enjoyable, but there are still moments that go at a slow pace such as before the Cell Games where you wished it would just speed up and you also have no Kai for Dragon B...

Re: Too late for Funi's Dragon Boxes for DB and DBGT and specials?
IMO it'd be more likely for Toei to do a Green 16:9 Kai cut of DB that Funimation would then dub. I'd love for them to do that. The original is already well paced (133 canon episodes) so it's not a must like Z where some parts were unwatchable (Namek) but it'd still be great to get an even closer v...

Re: Dragon Ball Kai Part 4 Blu-ray with Kikuchi Score
I think the First Print of Dragon Ball Kai Part 4 got the Yamamoto score for U.S while every other Part 4 has Kikuchi so it's much harder to do a complete Yamamoto Score in the English releases. Funimation screws up the box credits over and over again with Kai

Re: 2 questions regarding purchasing dragon ball and Z
From what I hear, FunimationNow are starting to replace some episodes of Z with Dragon Box footage, so if they carry this through the whole run, that will end up being the best option. As for Kai, yeah it is the easest/best way to just watch the Z portion of the story at the moment. And it has the ...

Re: So I just realized Piccolo never killed anyone in DBZ after Radditz/Goku
Pretty normal. Piccolo never sounded like a guy who would kill someone without any good reason to do so after training with Gohan and especially after fusing with Kami.

Re: Madman DVDs, solution for EP 73/81
Are the episodes alright on the american Saga DVDs or do they also have issues? The episodes are alright on the American Saga DVDs. I honestly don't know why the Madman DVDs have this problem. If you want your collection to be consistent, import the American Fortuneteller Baba Saga DVD or if you ju...

Re: Battle of Gods ranked one of the best 100 anime films ever
I see your points Bullza, 1. Yeah, I have to agree with this one. The BoG soundtrack was good, but RoF takes it up to new level for Sumitomo. 2. I agree with the focused story part of RoF with BoG having all these unnecessary side stories like Pilaf and the Dragon Balls, Trunks and Mai, and food and...

Re: Thoughts on Super Saiyan Hair becoming more refined as the series progressed?
I thought it was very cool until Boo came along and then I couldn't even tell the difference between Super Saiyan 1 and 2 (Kind of happy that Super kept SSJ 2 to a minimal degree except for Trunks.) I always thought the wild hair when Goku transforms and fights Freeza was to symbolize this untapped ...

Re: Full frame movies
What about the DB and DBZ series? Would you say that some European releases are less zoomed in than the Dragon Boxes? I know that Kai 1.0 and the Level Sets are less zoomed in, but those were modern transfers... Correct me if I am wrong, but I do think the Funi Dragon Ball Saga Sets (Australian and...

Re: What was your all time Picco-"low'?
That is really hard for me, but I guess I can consider it to be when the Resurrection of F saga hit Super and until Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters hit Toonami. I really wasn't doing anything Dragon Ball related during that time outside of viewing this forum and I was kind of exhausted from Dr...

Re: Should Toriyama have introduced SSJ?
Another idea I've played around with, is maybe Toriyama should have been a little more discerning with whom actually became Super Saiyans. I could imagine a series where Goku is MIA during the events of the Cell saga, and neither Trunks or Vegeta manage to progress to that level. Then instead of Go...

One of my favorites, I enjoyed his character a lot in the Boo Arc because of how he changed from a brash idiot to a caring person. He isn't my absolute favorite though.Wezenheim wrote:Yup! Well... depending on which Trunks you're talking about. I'm gonna assume you meant Future Trunks.

Re: What TV do you watch your DBZ on?
I mainly watch it on my 1080P Sony 50 Inch TV from 2014 in my living room. I paid so much for that TV and recently 4K has been really cheap which sucks for me.
It gets the job done well and Dragon Ball looks pretty good even when I stretch the ratio to 16:9.

Re: Original Series -- manga or anime?
Since you already have the first Season Set of Dragon Ball, I would recommend the Blue Bricks. The filler in Dragon Ball isn't as tedious as Z and the Blue Bricks have good quality. The manga is also censored in most English releases which doesn't help. Also the Blue Bricks are cheap. I started with...
