Re: Dragon Ball Daima - English Dub: Stephanie Nadolny Returns
Just came back from watching it in the theater. The dub was pretty good. In the brief moments we heard adult Gokū, Sean Schemmel turns in what is probably his best work as the character yet. Chris Sabat seemed slightly off as Vegeta, but that could have been due to the sound system tbh, so I'll ...

Re: List of dubs for some ''difficult to acquire'' Dragon Ball OVAs and Specials
Am I misremembering or didn't the One Piece x Dragon Ball x Toriko get an English dub recently?

Re: Dragon Ball Daima - English Dub: Stephanie Nadolny Returns
Talked with Stephanie Nadonly at Nekocon today. Apparently her coming back was a Toei decision and not a Crunchyroll one. Interesting...
Why would Toei ever do that? Imagine they do the same with Tiffany Vollmer replacing Monica Rial for Bulma in Daima (if that’s possible).
No idea. Maybe ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima trailer, October release date announced
I might have to wait and see how she does in the series proper, but judging from the trailer, I'm not impressed.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima trailer, October release date announced
There's definitely a part of me that kinda believes the Nadonly news to be true, but on the other hand, Kid Gokū is being featured prominently in a video game through GT, and that still has him being voiced by Clinkenbeard. I would think they would want more brand synergy between the two tbh.

Re: Colleen clinkenbeards English dub reception
She's definitely had mixed reception has Goku and Gohan, but I think people have gotten used to her Gohan more than her Goku mainly due to her being able to voice Gohan in a more complete sense than she has been able to Goku. Clinkenbeard has only voiced Goku in one movie, some flashbacks, and video ...

The simulcast is going to be on Crunchyroll, but I wouldn't be surprised if Toonami does get it.

Definitely surprised it's getting a late night slot in Japan. Would be interesting to see if takes advantage of it. Probably not.

Re: Toonami Rewind Block On Fridays.
I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to give my thoughts.
Definitely liked the idea of Toonami Rewind at first, but now, I dunno. It just feels underwhelming now. Maybe it's because almost every other week, I'm working Fridays and more often than not miss it, but it doesn't feel like an ...

There was ADV films that used the Texas talent pool as early as 1995Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 3:26 pm I don't recall there being any voice acting scene in Texas before Funimation, if there was it was incredibly niche. Funimation very much made their mark in that state once they went in-house.

I would appreciate if the Englidh cast tool more cues from the Japanese cast, and I think some have. However, they don't necessarily need to imitate them exactly.

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
It's been said before, but at best, a new dub of Z would just be the Kai dub with new performances from the current cast. There's no financial gain from a new dub of Dragon Ball Z, however, as much as we'd like it.

Re: The CW's ratings have officially reached rock bottom.
Wonder if CW could get Daima? Dragon Ball hasn't been on a kids channel since Vortexx shut down and they stopped airing Kai, which was nearly a decade ago.
Adult Swim is not currently airing Super and they're only moving on Kai episode 9 this Saturday, so it will be a while until they get ...

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator
Dragon Ball without Toriyama will be interesting, to say the least. I do think that there's enough new content in whatever canon we have that there doesn't need to be any grand continuation past what Toriyama already planned out.
I think a good comparison to this would be what had been touted as ...

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
This is just a gut punch. I just don't know what else to say. His work, Dragon Ball and beyond, had such an impact on my life. When I was somewhat serious about art, I bought stuff I thought he used when making his art. Seeing everyone here pour their hearts out and tall their stories is very ...

Re: Is censorship still needed to keep Dragon Ball Relevant to younger people?
While I don't think it's needed to keep the series relevant, I do think there might be a market for an edited version of say Kai or Super on home video. My nephew (who is five) just got into Dragon Ball through the trading cards. He knows the characters, and I l, as the "nerdy uncle," have often ...

Re: Would a “true” faithful dub ever be possible?
Like many others who have posted, I think it's possible, but not likely. Too much time has passed, and the demand for a new dub isn't that high tbh.
That being said, if we were ever in a huge Dragon Ball drought, I could see Funimation doung yet another redub of the show, but it would have to be ...

Re: SAY-IN - SPECIAL BEAM CAN-IN - SUN GOKU - DESTRUCTO DISK | Why does Dragon Ball STILL suffer with these shortcomings
Like others have said, most of the Super line changes are simple rewordings that say what was said in the Japanese only slightly differently. There are, however, those that come near the olden Z days. Funimation has been playing a balancing act of being accurate while pleasing the nostalgia of the ...
