Re: Thoughts on Brian Drummond's Vegeta?
Used to love him, then I watched the Japanese version and now find him too cartoony. I think Chris Sabat has become the better English Vegeta due to keeping his tone more mellow and grounded as of Kai and Super.
Would love to hear Brian's take on Vegeta if they went with a more natural approach.

Re: When DBZ aired in the UK
I remember when it was airing on CNX they decided to use the FUNI dub. After about two weeks they switched back to Ocean. I think it was due to people hating it. I wasn't able to get used to Fat Buu's high pitched voice.
CNX was a cool channel, gone too soon.

Either 18 'cause hot chick, or Beerus 'cause I get to be that powerful without having to constantly train and stay in shape.

Only good people were wished back at the end of the Buu arc. It'd be a plot hole if he showed up alive.Lord Beerus wrote:Tao Pai Pai. That tongue is OP as fuck.

Re: Things in Dragon Ball that we still don't have answers to
Black and Zamasu's fusion showed that it isn't a perfect, singular being. Same reason why Shin used the dragon balls to defuse, it didn't feel "right". So a pregnant woman would return to how she was once fusion time depletes. And SSJ2 & SSJ3 are mutations of SSJ, not the next step in ...

Scott McNeil's Piccolo (and Buu) were out of this world.
Still to this day even with Super, Chris can't get Piccolo's voice consistent.

Re: What made you switch over to the Japanese version?
after watching "Friends Return" I was fine with Japanese, and felt excited to watch Battle of the Gods in Japanese upon its release. Since then I have become a massive fan of the original, and increasingly more annoyed at any and all dubs of the franchise. Surely there must be one English...

Re: What made you switch over to the Japanese version?
I had DBZ Budokai 1 on the PS2, that was only released in Japanese here in Ireland. Never took an interest in it, though. Then skip ahead to 2008 and "Yo! Son Goku And Friends Return!" got released. I didn't want to wait 6 months for an English release (which ended up never happening), so ...

GT and Super have no connection to each other, so I wouldn't mind GT characters being brought in. For a bit character he had a cool style to him.

Re: Were there any power scaling problems back in DBZ?
Power levels ruined the franchise more than Super's power scaling issues. Kaio-Ken & SSJ ruined one of the biggest aspects that made DB so good; competition between everyone. Super pulling power boosts out its ass is trying to fix what Akira ruined. So it does it with subpar storytelling? Akira...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The Cell Games is one of the uglier settings for a final fight the franchise has had. Made more bland and forgetful when compared to the beauty that was Namek. Namek is jusy another monotonous giant wasteland for the characters to fights, the only difference being the green color pallete. Along wit...

Re: Were there any power scaling problems back in DBZ?
Aside from a few stretches and things that were more convoluted than others, power scaling in the original made sense just fine... except for the Babidi Spaceship bullshit. All the complaining about Super's power scaling makes me curious, what power scaling problems were there back in DBZ? Granted ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general. So they waited almost 90 episodes and five story arcs to drop it, make perfect sense. I got to somewhere around One Piece episode #111 or something before dropping. After interrupting Luffy vs. that lightning God dude's fight by putting a b...

Which would help effectively kill a really great scene, in my opinion. The whole talk with #17 at the end is perfection.DragonBallFoodie wrote:It's hardly anything serious. He is still a heroic and noble character.
The dubs may say that "All I've ever done is fight tough guys" and it still works out.
