Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I have noticed that some of the previous blu-ray seasons releases have recently (Within the past week) been marked down to $13 on Amazon. Hopefully, that's a sign that they're about to discontinue those and something better will be coming. I just want them to be in 4:3 and for it to not look like it...

Re: Kikuchi Kai: Is the music quality better?
One thing I noticed (but I watched Kai only by streaming wabsites + excerpts on youtube) is that these BGMs from Kikuchi in Kai seem pretty low pitched, compared to the original, that sounds often almost half a tone lower. It's disturbing, because when DBZ was on french television, it was exactly t...

Was speaking strictly US releases. And I'm sure the video quality (Beisdes Japanese titles and credits) is near identical being that Super is a new digitally animated series.ZodaEX wrote:Actually Toei Blu-rays of Super do exist.

Re: Best/Your Preferred Dragon Ball Releases (DVD, Blu-Ray.etc)
As far as what I'm personally going with. Dragon Ball: The older two disc Saga sets. I don't like the blurry filter remastering Funi did for the blue brick sets and while the encoding quality on these older dvds isn't as good, I think the sharpness of them makes up for it. Only thing that sucks is t...

I've seen Best of Goku on the clearance shelf at Walmart back around 2015-2016.LordCrumb wrote:I've only ever seen these for sale online, never in a store here.

I have every Kai 1.0 blu-ray except for Part 7 up on ebay if anyone is interested. Some of them come with their slipcovers but they're pretty beat up. These aren't mint copies by any means but the discs themselves are good when you just want to watch the episodes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/27364615931...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread
DB Movie 2 had a Funi DVD single released late in 2005. That might be the best open matte transfer of that film ATM, though there's a rumor of an R3 release with the Funi single master that has a higher bitrate. Doesn't that also suffer from the fps issue? The version that's included in the Dragon ...

Man, that Bardock clip looks good. Why couldn't they remaster the Buu arc like that for Kai?
They posted a clip from Fusion Reborn as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjpsc3FfcTw

99% chance these will be the pre-existing Funimation dubs with the remasters they made for the double feature blu-rays. I really wouldn't expect anything different.

Got Dragon Ball Super Parts 1-3 on blu-ray a few days ago. You can really tell the increase in quality between them and watching streaming versions.

Re: Does Dragon Ball Series Have deleted , extended footage?
One of the recent examples I think of is the 15/30-second teasers for the Universe Survival arc , which had slightly more of Kale's transformation animated in the sequence that was ultimately used in the opening theme. That same clip has Jiren standing next to his universe's Supreme Kai and God of ...

It makes sense for the original broadcast considering the circumstances of it all, however their sloppy placements for the home video release is something that'll stand literally forever for anyone who buys them now. If they sacrificed just a little bit more money and actually tried to match what w...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies 1-4 Now Available in HD on iTunes (with a hilarious error)
Does DB Movie 2 still have the half-frame rate problem? I haven't bought the movie but I did watch the trailer they had of it which is just a random clip from the movie and it looked like it had the same frame rate issue that is on the 4-pack dvd. And for some reason, that movie costs $5 more than ...

Snagged a copy of the DBZ Kai Part 3 blu-ray from someone on ebay for a good price.
Only parts 2, 4 and 7 left to go.
