Re: Favorite Scenes in the Buu Saga

Pretty much everything with Satan is gold. In particular, his fights in the tournament, him befriending Boo, and when he gets the entire Earth to raise their hands. Honestly, even though Vegeta's sacrifice is a great scene, I get more emotional watching the Satan stuff because I find his character a...

Was this very controversial? It seems like No. 17's treatment was one of the most widely-praised aspects of the ToP. I've only heard some mild criticisms of it, but maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention.

Re: Top 5 Most Controversial Modern DB Plots

1. Bringing Freeza back twice Both times were pretty polarizing. The second time was definitely handled better, but it still proved how reliant modern DB is on reusing old characters and plot points. 2. Forcing Boo out of multiple arcs for the same reason Boo is one of the most unique characters an...

Re: I Like Jiren

My biggest problem with Jiren was how long it took for him to get any depth. I was okay with Hit being a stoic badass without much personality because he was the main opponent of a much shorter tournament arc. Jiren, on the other hand, was the antagonist of a 50+ episode arc and didn't get any perso...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 8/20/18!)

Yet another great DBD video. I'm curious to see more of your analysis of Cell's character, particularly once he starts transforming. His first form always felt the most interesting to me. As you said, Toriyama somewhat ruined the mystery with the exposition dump, but even after that he still felt li...

Rank the Performance of the Universe 7 Members

Now that we've had time to digest the Universe Survival Arc, let's reflect on how each member performed and rank them accordingly. For the record, I'm not just talking about how long they lasted or how many contestants they eliminated. Rather, I'm talking about your overall satisfaction with how tha...

Re: Fan Service Tipping Point in DBS

I'd say it started back in Z, when the purple-haired, time traveling sword wielding son of two main characters came back from a dark future, and then immediately turned into a Super Saiyan and murdered Frieza as a cyborg and his dad. Or even earlier, when Goku and Piccolo teamed up to fight Goku's ...

Fan Service Tipping Point in DBS

A lot of people have argued that Dragon Ball Super relies on excessive fan service. I tend to agree with this assessment, but I'm curious to hear your opinions on whether or not there was a specific moment (or moments) when the fan service went too far. For me, it came around the end of the Future T...

Re: There is one criticism of super I will never agree with

I don't have any problem with tournaments, but I think they work better as shorter arcs. The ToP was a great idea, but it certainly didn't need to be a 50+ episode arc. The Dark Tournament from YYH is the only long tournament arc I've seen that works. Even then, it was shorter than the ToP. I think ...

Re: Have you ever met anyone who liked minus

In my experience, the people who like Minus are usually fans of the original English dub. That version of the Bardock special softens the character considerably, making the changes in Minus feel less jarring. Considering the Supermanification of Goku's character in the dub, the change to his origin ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

Vegeta's first death was better than his second and he should have stayed dead both times.
