Re: If Toriyama decided to bring Zamasu back
Given how hierarchical the system of deities is, and how far outside his station he was conducting himself, maybe he'll have to start over from the bottom rung of the ladder. Years from now we'll find that Zamasu has been working contritely on some far flung planet, filing paperwork and making tea ...

Re: If Toriyama decided to bring Zamasu back
tl;dr: I appreciate Zamasu's character coming full circle in its own irreverent capacity as another silly god who happened to be in way over his head. Perhaps you should as well. Some things are better left concluded. Given how hierarchical the system of deities is, and how far outside his station ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 102 - Official Discussion Thread
Also, while I admit I've never heard of this guy, it's hard to imagine a writer for DC working on a Dragon Ball project being good news in any way

Re: If Toriyama decided to bring Zamasu back
I wouldn't want this to happen and I find it very hard to imagine it happening, but... if it did happen... I think I'd want them to add some depth or nuance to his "anti-mortal ideology". Zamasu is defined by his disgust and fear of mortals, but his reasoning is thin, arbitrary and self-de...

Great for comic relief! Sorta predictable or boring for "serious high stakes" drama, I guess.

Re: Beerus sparing the earth in BoG makes no sense now
The instant you stop thinking of DBS as something that's actually happening in a real alternate dimension, and start thinking of it as the creative hobby of an old Japanese guy who's just having fun, questions like these become a lot easier to answer for yourself. Best post I've seen in years, this...

Re: Could this be the reason they don't continue DB Super series yet?
Working off of 'outlines' is really no different from working off of a comic. Like, writers are writers. It's true that "writers are writers" (how could that NOT be true?) but I disagree that there's no difference in working from an outline vs a completed manga. An outline doesn't include...

Re: Could this be the reason they don't continue DB Super series yet?
It's well known that the production of Super was deeply troubled, with multiple, egregious examples of new low points for the entire franchise in terms of art, animation and storytelling. It's likely that a large part of the cause of this was from having to work off "outlines" (or films) i...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Great chapter. Beerus forgetting Gohan cracked me up, and Toyo's art was on point. Bringing up Frieza just for Beerus to dismiss his significance was interesting, I think that points to his return, if he does return, being misdirection or setup for something else, similar to his return to earth at t...

Re: Why the Black Frieza saga will not be seen
If you want to try to understand why so many people are so skeptical of the idea of a "Black Frieza saga", take a step back and consider how his character changes throughout DBS. The most important thing about the introduction of Black Frieza is not that that he one-shots Goku and Vegeta, ...

Re: A rebuttal to the defense of the Zamasu arc ending
One incredibly important aspect of this ending is that it was used to introduced the second Zen'oh. In fact, that might be the single most important element of the entire arc... but of course, this remains to be seen.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
What makes you think Black Frieza won't be used as fodder to prop up someone else like Mecha Frieza? Mecha Frieza was also built-up as a new, stronger version of Frieza that made the protagonists tremble in fear (like Black Frieza). One would assume that he would put up a good fight. He was instead...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Interesting points. After a little more thought, I think this is worth emphasizing: There's something to be said about not only the manga's routine exposure on the website and official socials like Twitter, but also the fact that it's consistently grouped with the original manga whenever there's an ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
I don't know why people keep repeating this nonsense. Did they forget that the anime came first and was the main product? That the manga initially served only to promote the series? DBS (anime) was never adapted from anything other than the outlines that Toriyama provided to both Toei and Toyotaro....

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
You are right however you are preaching to the choir. Fans do not want any new characters at all just keep rehashing the same old ones. Hell, even the attempt to try and "redo" old characters is hated on which is why you still get that bullshit headcannon about " Z broly wasnt crying...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Well, I guess this is the end of an era, right? I will always cherish this thread since the excitement of having a new anime announced after 18 years without any was indescribable at the time. I don't think Daima will reach the peak that Super has reached, but I hope it turns out to be a good serie...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
For that matter, I pray Black Frieza (if Gohan does get involved in that situation) utterly WRECKS Beast Gohan. Once we get to that point of Super, I just really don't want there to be a situation where Gohan simply needs to activate Beast and we're done. Like, with all the build-up to Frieza, that...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Speaking as a fan of 25 years, my favorite parts of Super Hero were all of the scenes with Piccolo, Pan, and the Gammas. I was invested in those characters, the film was their story, and the fact that the story suddenly becomes a tired repeat of the same boring, aimless Gohan arc, the film instantl...
