Re: Would the Dragon Balls Still Function if Buu Absorbed Dende?
That's a fair point which I didn't think about, thanks. I'm now inclined to believe that yes, it would be possible for the Dragon Balls to stay active if Boo used regular absorption, since he would de facto inherit Dende's powers.

Re: Would the Dragon Balls Still Function if Buu Absorbed Dende?
Let's not forget that Popo threw Dende out from the Lookout for this very reason, e.g. to prevent him from being absorbed by Boo. It's unclear if Popo would have been wrong, but it's directly stated both in the manga and in the anime.

I actually had to read those panels twice, because I didn't even notice the teacher at a first glance, and I thought that Piccolo was looking at us, breaking the fourth wall.FortuneSSJ wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 2:10 pmPiccolo saying goodbye in the last page is like saying goodbye to Toriyama.

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Lemo versus Mr. Satan. Neither can use weapons, but since Lemo usually wears Saiyan armour, Mr. Satan can wear it too, for fairness. Now I do want to see how Mr. Satan would look in Saiyan armour. Also, since both of them are relatively old at this time, suppose this fight is between their best/youn...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 103 - Official Discussion Thread
It was hard to avoid all the spoilers (I actively avoided this forum for the past few days), because I wanted to read the chapter in a legit way and be surprised of it, and now that it's finally released in the Shonen Jump app, I gotta say that I loved it, best chapter in a long while. Sure, there s...

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator
I imagine future volumes won't sell as much since it'll be all Toyotaro and no longer any supervision from Toriyama. I might be wrong, but I read that manga artists are usually required to always have three chapters ready in advance, as a buffer in case problems arise, not sure if that only applies...

Since we're posting tributes now, here is Naoto Ohshima and Judy Totoya (two people involved with the classic Sonic games): https://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?posts/1067136/ . I apologise if the link directs to another forum, but I don't know where the original posts are from. If someone knows,...

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator
Other franchises have been doing great even after their creators died, one gigantic example are the 007 movies, only two of which came out before Ian Fleming's death, and several of them are original works not even remotely based on the books. With that said, I'm probably going to give Toyotarou a c...

Word puzzle dedicated to Akira Toriyama
I know this is by no mean comprehensive, and some of the characters might be Toyotarou's designs, but... I quickly whipped this up as a sort of tribute: https://i.imgur.com/hvC85Nn.png Solution key: 7, 6. (I also know that "Moro" can be found in two ways, but both of them are luckily valid...

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
I want to imagine that he is happily sharing jokes with king Kai in the afterlife, and I could really use some of those jokes right now, because like many of you I'm actually crying in real life at this time. It's an overused phrase when it comes to people you don't know in person, but he will be mi...

Re: Did Trunks' maternal grandparents (Bulma's parents) die in EOZ?
Off the top of my head, I don't think we've ever seen anyone dying from old age in Dragon Ball, except for Saichourou's second death (though it's implied that the circumstances were particular).

Re: If Toriyama decided to bring Zamasu back
Perhaps everything that gets erased by the Gods and Zeno don't actually get erased? Just get sent to it's own dimension. Just like the "pruning" done by the TVA in the Loki television series, then. Think of it like this: If Zeno's Erase technique really does erase people from existence, h...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 102 - Official Discussion Thread
This chapter isn't bad, but the pacing is still painful. I understand that they can't pull 45 pages on a weekly basis, but... some people aren't entirely wrong when they say that this almost feels like filler.

Re: Dubs you've been actively following
I watched all episodes of classic Dragon Ball (1/Z/GT) in Italian at least two or three times, back in the day, because the internet wasn't really a thing yet, and I defaulted to what my local tv network provided. I completely switched to Japanese, nowadays. There is an Italian dub of DBS, but I act...

Re: So what age is Goku REALLY?
Currently? He is forty-five years old, going by the AGE 737 date, and the fact that Dragon Ball Super Super Hero takes place in AGE 782. Don't forget that he spent several years in the RoSaT, though. 782 - 737 might be equal to 45, but Goku is a few years older than that (I should be able to calcul...
