Re: What IYO is the best and worst ending to a DB saga?

The worst one on the top of my head is the Granolah arc. It had a great first stretch and even the revelations and forms were interesting to me. But the ending fight did drag out too long, and while the stuff between UI and UE was neat, the ending just came out of nowhere and felt rather hollow, des...

I'm pretty sure Arale is stronger than Beerus, anyway. Or at least if gag manga powers truly ascend the levels of the gods

Re: Could the Moro and Granolla Animated Adaptations get the same hype as Black and ToP?

I don't know about the same level of hype necessarily, especially the Top which was an inter universal tournament with some elements that can be inferred from sporting events like the World Cup, but there are many elements in both arcs that can provide a reasonable amount of hype for a franchise thi...

Re: Toei Animation Is Creating PreCure Series For Adults, Might Dragon Ball Be Next?

Well, if DB were to dip into more mature content, I certainly hope it wouldn't be one of those continuations.

At most, I'd see a one off or an offshoot rather than a follow up a la Super with that sort of idea.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 91 - Official Discussion Thread

Unsure as to how the involvement with the police will pan out (no pun intended) but the beginning with Piccolo waiting for Pan outside was admittedly very cute, despite the language barrier. His face says it all, though I can't say if the conversation seems to be routine or not. It probably is but I...

Re: Dragon Ball GT Would’ve Been Rated A Masterpiece If It Used The Plot Of The Metarex Saga From Sonic X

People talk about GT every day, while the Metarex arc has never even been adapted to a single Sonic game to this day. To be fair, none of Sonic X were adapted into later media AFAIK. Not in a direct manner anyhow. And i'm not counting the Adventure retellings, but that's a reverse where the anime w...

Re: Are you sick of Goku?

I don't feel so, honestly. It's been pretty clear it is a show and franchise that is centered around Goku in one way or another.

We all knew what happened when Toriyama tried to diverge the protagonist role to Gohan, though the long serialisation likely didn't help things.

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks" turns 30

Personally I'm more miffed by this special not being included in Kai despite being manga canon, though I kind of understand why not if it is just the whole special beat for beat. Still, the beginning kept the end of the Bardock special so it's a shame Trunks isn't in there too.

Re: What exactly is the "re-edition" of Dragon Ball on Manga+ and the Shonen Jump App?

Re-edition, from my understanding, is just a weekly re-release of chapters from an already existing manga. Or in other words like a re-run on TV. For Manga Plus at least it seems to just be the Viz translations, meaning that outdated translations and terms would still be used. So, for example, Drago...

Re: "Dragon Ball Legends" Official Discussion Thread

UL Hit is interesting, but still meh... I'm probably saying that because of my bad luck while trying summoning ULTRAs. Honestly I'm just kind of glad they were actually able to implement time skip in some form, with the timer and even the camera halting whenever a time skip is successful. Real awkw...

(Possibly) Shady Artist on YouTube?

Lately I've been observing that this artist has been popping up on YouTube and claiming videos with music from Dragon Ball (be it vocals or instrumental pieces), but while it mentions Nippon Columbia, I'm not sure if it is legit or not. Though judging by the lack of credit and the artist name, I hav...

Re: Non-Americans: thoughts on the Funimation dub?

I find the Funi dubs from around the 2000s (when they were doing the PS2 games and the original Dragon Ball) to be somewhat tolerable, since they improved from their terrible first round with their characters. Though if I were to go through original Z and I'm given a choice, I'd probably stick to th...

Re: Are you done with Dragon Ball?

I think for me it has waned over time, but I doubt I will truly forget about it in some shape. For all its faults Dragon Ball's tales of struggle, fistbumping action and its sense of humour will make it pretty hard for me to forget. Such is life for me, things that I hold obsessions over eventually ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

Perhaps this is a minority of people, but does anyone find it weird whenever people say that Vegeta should turn into an old man when he got SSJ4? Likely it is due to Goku (somehow) turning into an adult whenever he uses that form, so they expect it to age up the person who uses it, regardless of how...

Re: Toriyama loves Star Wars but has George Lucas ever talked about Dragon Ball?

Personally I don't really get much similarity between DB and Star Wars, not one's that are direct parodies or I noticed like OP mentioned. Even if it is, I think that Star Wars at least differentiates itself from those things that gives the films a unique edge (regardless of quality).

Re: What was your first introduction to Dragon Ball?

I genuinely forgot that I've posted a response here, but this one's a bit more heartfelt and detailed I feel so here goes anyway: Back around the late 2000s, early 2010s (?), Cartoon Network was airing DBZ Kai. Weirdly enough, I think it was using the uncut dub as well? Or at least I remember it bei...

Re: New Sand Land project announced

After reading it for the first time, I hope the anime gets the opportunity to expand from the original work. Nothing crazy, just some backstory, character interactions, etc., just things that would hopefully flesh out Sand Land better. As for the animation, knowing that the Jojo/Batman Ninja studio ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Legends" Official Discussion Thread

A UL Gogeta Blue is something that i didn't really have any crazy thoughts on after seeing the initial reveal and intro splash screen, though I'd like to see it's performance during PVP before I take the plunge in getting him. I don't really see Kaioken Blue as much these days and even UL Broly does...

Why Do People Think Goku Wins All the Time?

Whenever Dragon Ball gets discussed, some people would probably make a jab or a snarky remark that Goku wins his fights all, or at least most of, the time. Some, however, point out that he rarely wins at all, which sounds a little silly, but considering what they mean by Goku wins, being a Goku solo...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"

It still amazes me how we gradually moved away from the subject of the Multiverse with the intrigues of the gods to get back to f*ck*n' Frieza and the old ass Red Ribbon and the Androids. https://twitter.com/DB_super2015/status/1597545913601249281 Honestly, I'm glad we did.
