Don't forget, Bulma was 16 years old at the time.

Re: Is original Dragon Ball really that unpopular?

Right. I have heard claims that the original Dragon Ball is the more popular of the two in Japan, but I have my doubts. Why was "Z Senshi" used as a term for describing the Dragon Team, even in Japan? Why did Battle of the Gods release under the Z branding when Z had already ended ages ago...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Also, I did finish Yu Yu Hakusho, and yes, I didn't like Yusuke turning into Goku in the final third of the anime either. How's that and why? Basically, Yusuke starts saying things like, "I don't care about the fate of the world, I'm only interested in fighting you!" Is suddenly retconned...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

I apologize for what I said earlier. I haven't been visiting my therapist for a while since he decided to go on leave. It's really, really frustrating for me to tolerate people who openly express their dislike of popular shows like DBS to the point they get certain facts wrong, like I am facing aga...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

To be fair, I don't think Yamcha will have more than 2 scenes in the new show. He hasn't exactly had a good track record of screentime after Namek. Redubbing his lines would be extremely easy.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

I have rewatched Super recently. Every single character only starts repeating the line "But Zeno was going to erase the universes anyway, so Goku gave them a fighting chance, really!" after Goku suggests the tournament. You act as if that makes it a retcon , when according to everything w...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Uh, the bolded is flat out wrong, it’s explicitly said in the anime as well that they were going to just wipe out the universes before Goku made the suggestion for the tournament. Grand Priest and Whis flat out say it. The implication by the end of the arc is that Goku making the suggestion for the...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Seriously y'all enough with the "Goku put the multiverse at risk with his lust for battle". It just flat out isn't true because, again Zeno was planning on wiping the lot of them out before that. This is true... IN THE MANGA. In the anime, it's not like that at all. This was only stated A...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Goku's thing has always been, "Well if shit goes wrong, I'll just beat them up again." Most of Goku's recklessness isn't from apathy of the consequences, he's just sure he can handle those consequences, and that's been consistent since early DB. And again, why do people always leave out t...

Absolutely not i think in a more "larger" way than you, YOU guys think that ending his career will prevent him doing it again ,that's absolutely a stupid argument, Firing him: - Would deprive him of potential extended status - Save potential new people from knowing his work and falling vi...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Goku used to kill anyone, that is until he met Android 8. Android 8 taught Goku that killing isn't the right way to solve a problem. Then once Goku trained with Mr Popo and Kami, he stopped killing villains. However Goku told Future Trunks that sometimes some villains needs to die. With Android 8, ...

Re: Furuya Tooru (Yamcha) Admits to Physically Abusing Woman He Had An Affair With

i don't see why he should be fired? EVERYWHERE i'm saying that he need to legaly pay but i'm smart enough to know that fired him is totally useless in that case It's not like this only ended up happening because he was a famous voice actor exploiting an innocent fan or anything, right? Have you tho...

Re: Furuya Tooru (Yamcha) Admits to Physically Abusing Woman He Had An Affair With

i understand emotions about this but stop being irrationnal OK then, answer without emotions: He should be detained and held behind bars. The fact is, he is a menace to society and shouldn't be able to walk free. Yamcha can easily find a new voice actor, I mean, we have no emotional attachment to h...

Re: Furuya Tooru (Yamcha) Admits to Physically Abusing Woman He Had An Affair With

"Separate the art from the artist."
No. When the artist benefits from the art and uses said benefits to cause real word harm, then FUCK NO.
Also, if you really believed in that, then you'd have no problem separating the fact he's voiced Yamcha from the fact he should be behind bars.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

I think the point of contention is that Goku was not characterized to such extremes for large portions of the series. Not necessarily that we want him to be mire akin to characters in other stories because we like them more. Mostly this. Goku can be a selfish, overconfident, static character who, w...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Well, I think when people are upset that Goku is not being more practical at X, Y, or Z moment in a story (causing him to be unlikable for many, yourself included), there's a clear complaint of "he could be doing this otherwise more practical thing to save the day/end the conflict". Even ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

I think about the only time in Super where Goku genuinely seemed shook about something happening to others was his rage at learning that Zamasu had killed Chichi and Goten in the future... and that scene was anime-only and therefore probably a Toei original. There was also the time when Geran tried...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Dragon Ball became way too invested in trying to determine who could defeat someone in a one-on-one battle at full strength. I really wish that stuff outside of the 1984 comic had taken it upon itself to avoid doing that. Other anime made in 2024 still focus on one-on-one battle, which I enjoy. Alt...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Your mileage might vary, but I did find myself engaged with the capitalist dystopia planet, the creepy doll planet, the desert episode and the machine empire. Plenty of good character interaction to be found on those. The only one I had real problems with was the Oolong ripoff. From what the trailer...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Whether it be the Black Star Dragon Balls arc or Daima, the power scaling was already stretching incredulity. Even if you take the search to space, where you could find anyone, Freeza was already established as the strongest being in the universe (to Kaio's knowledge) since Namek. Goku already beat ...
