Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.

Yeah, I just found out thru TVB News. This is so sudden. Kind of in a loss for words right now. If it had not been for him, I'd still be illiterate. Dragon Ball had been so influential for me to the point that I learned how to read Chinese in a country that doesn't teach Chinese literacy that effect...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread

Anybody planning to buy the digital copy the minute it comes out in Asia? Mind you, there is usually a 12-13 hour head start in Asia because of time zone difference. Pretty sure it won't be any English in the Hong Kong and Taiwan release since that is what Bandai has been doing for their games latel...

Re: The end of era: Sony discontinues the Funimation brand on April 2

They shoulda kept the Funimation streaming service and do a simple renaming to Crunchyroll because as it stands now, Crunchyroll can't even provide proper Dolby 5.1 audio out of their movie offerings. And that is why I won't be subscribing to Crunchyroll. I can access most of their weekly anime on N...

I soooo much missread your post as "New Dragon Ball mecha 7-11 (feet tall I assumed) in Taiwan" and I was thinking what could it be? A mecha sheng long? I was considering so hard to visit Taiwan and then... well... I read it again. But some of the post were midly interesting. Thank you fo...

New Dragon Ball merch at 7-11 in Taiwan

Just found this post and there's a lot of Dragon Ball offered at 7-11 in Taiwan. Kinda want the coffee mugs. Don't really care for the rest though.

Re: Dragon Ball Dance and Light Show in China

Must have been awesome to be there live. A WTF moment for me was suddenly hearing "Ka mejjj haaa mejjjj haaaa!" from Schemmel out of Goku... I thought I was hearing things. I wouldn't mind an actual stage show done in this way. I hear in Japan, they do a lot of stage shows based on Shonen...

Re: Dragon Ball Dance and Light Show in China

This is surprisingly better than I expected. The cover of makafushigi Adventure is a 8/10 for me They did cut out one part of the song so that's why it's a 8 CAST; The casting was pretty good actually like for kid goku and kid chi-chi and all the other actors to 10/10 STORY; The story confuses me b...

Re: Chinese Language Dragon Ball Fan resources?

I guess you can add this to your database but Vegeta Cantonese dub voice actor Kwok Chi-Kuen has retired from voice acting in 2003 and moved to New York to study stage design and psychology. You have him filed as "Guo Zhi-Quan" which is not wrong but this is Hong Kong and it's probably mo...

Re: Countries and Release Dates for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Still no signs of a Cantonese dub. Crunchyroll isn't even available in Hong Kong. Sony doesn't have a stranglehold on anime in that region. Does Animax still have a presence in Hong Kong? I thought they were owned by Sony. Didn't get a chance to surf thru the TV channels in Hong Kong. I hardly had ...

Re: Countries and Release Dates for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

The Cantonese voice actor for the TVB dub, Lam Kwok-Hung retired. And the TVB Cantonese voice actor retired and moved to Canada (from what I heard). The actor who played Piccolo from that same dub retired recently. Yes, I had read that about Goku's VA. Do you happen to know who voices adult Goku in...

Dragon Ball Z World Adventure Exhibition in China

Apparently there is some kinda Dragon Ball exhibit starting on the 23rd of this month and ending in early January. It's in Guangzhou, China. Not too sure what will be on display. But I guess it's going to be similar to the Demon Slayer exhibit I attended in Hong Kong.
