Re: So Xenoverse's main theme is a Metallica cover...
I'm not sure the Super Butouden 2 re-release means anything... I've seen other games where well-known music rights issues weren't a problem for emulated re-releases like the Virtual Console. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has some rather infamous rights issues, but the only time the music was changed was when...

So, guys. I've been trying to wrap my head around the hype for this game, but what actually sets the combat apart from the flimsy Sparking and Raging Blast stuff? No matter how many gameplay videos I watch, it looks like the same thing. I'm genuinely curious.

Re: Super Gokuden: Kakusei-Hen Opening Theme Question
It is on Kanzenshuu's page, listed as "Awakening Edition," which is a translation of "Kakusei-hen" (though probably "Awakening Chapter" would be a bit more appropriate in the context of a video game title.) It's the first track from that album, which mostly consists of ...

I don't think you can really be "caught" in that case, as it's a traditional folk song that nobody quite knows the origin of. In other words, it isn't copyrighted.

I love TFS work because they arent guys pretending to be funny and pretending to know about the series. They are funny indeed and have a great knowledge about the series and its japanese version. Not some american fanboys. And the work is done in a professional way too. Also, we're not currently wo...

Advance Adventure has Makafushigi Adventure on the title screen, Romantikku Ageru yo for the ending credits and Mezase Tenkaichi for the fights against Jackie Chun and Tenshinhan. (Also, the Muscle Tower level's music has a little nod to Moeru Heart de, but apparently either nobody noticed or it was...

Re: Kai Episode 99 (06 April 2014)
I liked the new score. The OP and ED songs, not so much. The ED instantly disappears from memory when it's over and the OP is a pretty generic anime intro. Tanimoto's voice is still obnoxious. I like the animation for both, though. I'm not sure if I like how much they "spoil", but they're ...

Like Fizzer, I haven't read all of your work yet, but I have to say that your approach doesn't work too well for the early standalone stories. By stuffing each episode with as much content as you can, you're creating an unfocused experience. Take your episode 2, for example: the encounters with Kame...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Not that it matters because this thing is never ever coming out, but I always thought that it was "ironic" because Goku would be voiced by the English equivalent of someone who played opposite Kappei Yamaguchi. Maybe that's where the Brad Swaile line of thinking comes from too--Light Yagam...

Re: Will Toei animation censor the buu saga of Kai like Tori
Question if any Americans here have Toriko on dvd. Is it censored there, or less censored from its Japanese broadcast? Know quite a few of Funimation's fanservice shows' dvds have bare boobies on them, while their original Japanese broadcasts didn't. Heck, was just earlier watching the commentary o...

The European version of Ultimate Battle 22 brought us "Likum" for Reacoom. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a screenshot so here is the less-amusing Ten Chin Han:

"San" in French sounds a lot closer to the Japanese "Son" than the French "Son" would.

Re: Could these be the people responsible for the Dutch subs
Back in the day, it was pretty common for a lot of cartoons to just air in English with subtitles. Shows that were licensed directly from other languages were usually dubbed though, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because English is the first foreign language Dutch children learn in school. On top o...

Hell yeah, I didn't think anyone else would mention Ryo Saeba. Though I'm not sure he'll want to show up, given how much of a sausagefest this game is so far.JeffJarrett wrote:I want Ichidō Rei and Ryo Saeba.

-I- can't even beat this game and I consider myself pretty decent at the fighting genre... so I can only imagine what Arino's reaction will be like.
Personally, I hope he discovers the trick where you just keep dashing into the opponent at the right rhythm.

Somebody posted a bunch of insanely creepy-looking bootleg DBZ... things. The Vegeta one made me laugh, so I decided to make it my avatar as a joke. Then I never ended up finding another one.

That's actually quite possible... would also explain why subsequent games didn't have the blast reaction vocals at all. Or why all the voices in Hyper Dimension sound like the voice actors are talking into a pillow.

Wow, I guess you're better at listening to Japanese than me. (Then again, that -is- the portion I failed my exams on) I haven't been able to trigger the "Jaa ne" soundbyte... I actually let myself get a game over just before I posted last time because that's exactly what I figured i...

Re: One more time: Z Music suggestions :)
When I think of modern Dragon Ball music outside the Faulconer style, I usually think of slightly rocky tunes with lots of trumpets and some strings here and there--no doubt thanks to Yamamoto, although there are some Kikuchi pieces that liked the guitar too, like this one (which I rather like despi...
