Re: Saban Funi "Battle Stars" Censorship

You mean this thing? https://sendvid.com/wznacam5 Holy shit   Last time I watched the syndicated dub was an upload that had the audio layed over Dragon Box footage so everything was visually uncensored so I had no idea the impact stars looked that cheap and bad  They could have done ...

Re: Things that grind your gears

The key difference to me is the execution. Masako Nozawa doesn’t voice Goku like an old woman she voices Goku like a young boy in an adult male body. Which could be off-putting I suppose but to call her Granny Goku feels like a disingenuous argument and I have a hard time buying anyone making this ...

Re: The Good old days of Dragonball websites.

I remember going on a similar site as a kid sometime back in the early 00's that had horrible quality clips and some random full fansub episodes of all three series, though the name of the site escapes seeing as that was many moons ago i'm pretty sure the subtitle translations on the videos were fr...

Re: Goku and Gohan should've been Vegans

But what do you think will happen if Goku and Gohan turned vegans? They'll eat all the vegetation on earth leaving nothing for the animals to eat, and so they'll all starve to death, so in this case they'd do even more harm to the ecosystem than good. Actually the better question should be...

Re: Nostalgia for the so-called dark ages of DB

I'm nostalgic to the time when Dragon Ball was "over" before we had Kai, or even the 2008 Jump Special. That time when everything we had known about the franchise was at hand and weren't bombarded with new content expanding or retconning the canon. Back then the most toxic debate were cano...

Re: Why did so many DragonBall movies focus on alternate versions of the main story?

From my understanding back then Dragon Ball the series wasn't available on home releases because the VHS market wasn't that big yet and so, these movies were the alternative.

They can't release an entire arc to the market but they can give you a similar story as an alternative.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

With Super, Heroes and Fusions bringing new material and new forms and modes to everything and attracting a new generation of fans, it makes me wonder of those new fans are aware of the existence of AF and how it was a huge part of the fandom before the revival with Battle of Gods.

Were the poster advertisements included with only 2 out of 3 DVDs or was there a point when Movie 2 also came with one?

The sad part about it we may never learn what happens in court. Vic Mignogna is not that big to get a public broadcast of the trial and it's a high chance it'll be private behind closed doors without publishing the full details publicly. Almost all court proceedings in the United States of America ...

Re: Ways Dragon Ball makes you happy!

Had to drop by after going through the depressing war zone on Twitter. I like Dragon Ball because it's one of the few franchises where I can say grew up with. First time watching and reading it gave me a different idea on storytelling that I wasn't familiar with growing up and I loved the fights tha...
