Perhaps it's because I'm Canadian that I got the sarcasm in your statement then eh? (Just for the record, this comment is also sarcasm.) As for Goku's comment about Chi-Chi looking skimpy, I know that's from the dub, when it comes to what's said in the dub versus the sub, believe me, I'm the bigges...

In Denmark, Hatchan is named "Otto". It's actually a pretty good translation, as the danish word for 8 is "otte", which is pronounce exactly the same way as Otto. Of course, then they go do stupid things, like calling the Jinzoningen "cyborgs". Better than androids, but...

Mai does talk to Pilaf... For two panels. The third panel (Most leftbottom one), has her talking to Soba. Short, but enough to establish the name for him, causing confusion for DB Fans when Toriyama suddenly names him 'Shuu'. Flaunting of ridiculously useless Dragon Ball Knowledge for the day: Chec...

Going back to the Shuu/Soba discussion, here's the quote from the danish manga of Mai talking to Pilaf: Mai: Prince Pilaf, message from SectorH-15. A vehicle has just passed. Pilaf: Good. It must be them. Take my plan into action. Mai: Understood! Mai: They're on their way to the palace. Pilaf: Can ...

#16 may not have had a soul, but they still could have wished his parts back to life (after all, Ha-chan was able to be wished back by Shenron in the Buu saga). For someone that had such a strong impact on Gohan, they sure forgot about him really quickly. -_- Hachan was organic, #16 wasn't. Also, #...

I can't really think of anything truly hillarious, so here's a quote from Yajirobe:

Actually from what I remember hearing was that Toriyama had to change the name a bit or decided himself to change it to show that it was a different series, and "Z" just sounded cool, plus it sounded like it was nearing the end, which Toriyama was hoping to do, which of course didn't happ...

Yep... in the Japanese version, he's called "Soba" over the radio in his first appearance. Which page was this? I can't remember anyone talking to him on the radio. I can't check, because I don't have any of the volumes with me at school. However, it's right around the first frame that he...

As for whether he'll show up in the edited version... it depends on how well they can disguise his similarity to said dictator.
They'll just edit his moustache so he looks like Stalin. And give him the name "Stalin". Because we all know Stalin is evil anyway, right?

I didn't think Pilaf and his minions even appeared in the original manga. I also heard that originally Shu and Mai didn't even have names. They appear at the start, the first real "bad guys". The section of the anime where they appear at the start of the Red Ribbon saga isn't in the manga...

I didn't think Pilaf and his minions even appeared in the original manga. I also heard that originally Shu and Mai didn't even have names. They didn't in the danish version, at least. The first time we heard their names was when Pilaf was shouting orders in vol 9. So Viz uses Soba? Eh, never read t...

"Everybody's forgetting Goku robbed Soba of his clothes after they burned his pants... Now there's a neat extra outfit!"

It's Shuu, not Soba.

"Here's a hint, Kuririn is one. "

Only in the dub.

I know in the dub at one point Jeez says to Ginyu that Goku might be a mutant like them, but as far as I know, that's just Funimation doing their "let's just make this up and assume it probably true anyway" thing. No, it was in the danish manga as well. Ginyu: He's probably around 60000.....

Tao Pai Pai's age

Seriously, the guy's gotta be old.

Tsuru Sennin, his brother, was around when Mutaito defeated Piccolo. That was 300 years ago.

Yet he still looks like he's about thirty.
