It looks like what they did for the Dragon Ball blue bricks, which were zoomed in about the same amount, I think. This might be worse. The Blue Bricks were zoomed in from the original 4:3 footage while this take an already 16:9 cropped footage and seemingly zooms it in. They didn't do that, though....

To be fair, I don't believe that they actually straight cropped the 16:9 BDs even further to 4:3. It looks more like what they did for the Dragon Ball blue bricks, which were zoomed in about the same amount, I think. Regardless, I hate it.
