Re: Episode #0333 (12 May 2013)

I got my copy of the Chōgashū and fully support this podcast's message in that you should definitely get it if you like anything about DB's art. :) Would also agree that it comes at a good price for its quality, though I could see shipping/import costs getting bad for people not lucky enough to know...

Re: Special Podcast Episode: DBZ Video Game Music #1

This podcast was a great trip down memory lane! As far as good songs go I'd also refer to Final Bout and the Super Butoden series, the soundtracks still hold up well even if there's nostalgia bias involved. Hikaru no Willpower flat out was my favourite song for a while as a kid and I kept on beating...

Re: Episode #0333 (12 May 2013)

My friend was figuring he might have to go to a regular bookstore, thanks a lot for confirming that. He is gonna check tomorrow and see if he can make a reservation if it's sold out.

Re: Episode #0333 (12 May 2013)

Any insights on where in Japan the Chōgashū is sold (I'm assuming Julian just got it in a Japanese store)? A friend of mine went to look for it in Akihabara, but couldn't find it in any anime/manga stores. :/ Really hoping it's not sold out by now. >< Thanks a lot for any helpful response! (It may h...

Re: Episode #0298 (13 May 2012)

I honestly wasn't even aware there was a Dutch Kanzenban release. Over the course of 7 years I bought all 85 Glénat booklets in Dutch (one every month), which were really just translations of the French version and not very great quality. That publication ended, hm... about four years ago? Besides a...

Re: Early Z battle power jump.

That same battle power system? We know what sort of jumps he made throughout DB. I do like the shock to the system idea, personally. There have been times I'd play video games against a small group of friends and eventually think I'd hit the peak of skill, only to then face a new opponent who's so m...

Early Z Battle Power Jump

I'm not that obsessed with battle powers in the sense that I know there are inconsistencies. However, something has always bothered me: Throughout DragonBall, power levels don't increase that dramatically. While Goku gets about 30-40 times stronger between meeting Bulma and winning the 23rd Tenkaich...

Re: Episode #0294 (08 April 2012)

We got the French version of Final Bout in my country, not so sure about the American version as I only played that at someone's house and don't know if it was a legal copy. A friend at some point gave his game to me because he was ahead of the curve and considered it to be ass even back then. This ...

Re: Episode #0293 (25 March 2012)

Vegeta is one of my favourite characters by virtue of being one of few main characters with serious flaws and development, as well as managing to more or less stay relevant from introduction to finish. He has some pretty flashy moments to boot. ;) The podcast gave a nice overview of Vegeta's role th...

Re: Episode #0285 (15 January 2012)

I would assume that he found it funny females didn't have testicles, and/or linking it to Bulma's horror at her discovery that she had no panties on when she flashed Old Man Roshi, because, IIRC, he found that funny at the time too. He said something like, "Haha, you don't need those parts to ...

Re: Episode #0285 (15 January 2012)

Goku was thinking back to it as something funny, which IMO is a little out of character, because he usually doesn't even seem to understand why people get upset with him for his behaviour involving genitalia. But yeah, I didn't get anything sexual out of it either. Goku in general is probably the mo...

Re: Episode #0285 (15 January 2012)

Heh, when I saw this episode a while back I was wondering why I've never seen anyone comment on it before. For me it was kind of pushing it, but I still thought it was funny in an awkward way. It's moreso about what it implies than what it actually depicts, but I'm not sure how deeply it should be r...

Re: Episode #0279 (27 November 2011)

It would mostly be redundant at this point and throughout the years you guys have touched on a lot of the filler. Force feeding Jeff all movies in one long marathon could turn out fun though. I do share JulieYBM's opinion that the original DB anime is amazing upon rewatching it (I just sta...

Re: Episode #0279 (27 November 2011)

I've recently purchased the two DBGT collections from Amazon, so I might rewatch the series at least partially. I remember not liking the first half much, but thinking the second half was tolerable. I guess that means I prefer red monkey Goku beating up silly villains as opposed to an attempt at rec...

Re: Episode #0277 (06 November 2011)

This review to me was the final push towards not getting Ultimate Tenkaichi at all. I'm kind of done with story modes for the series and a character creator doesn't make up for steps back in gameplay and the overall roster, in my opinion. The voice inconsistencies don't really bother me because I al...

Re: Episode #0276 (30 October 2011)

Interesting stuff. The part about Dabura's origins was very enlightening, makes me wish they did more with that in the show.

I always wondered why Piccolo Daimaoh spawned various monsters rather than more typical Namekians. Was there ever an explanation for this?

Re: "DragonBall: Raging Blast 2" (PS3/360) Help Thread

That explains why all mentions of DLC I've seen were so vague. Looking on XBL Marketplace myself I can only find the demo, so I guess there's nothing to expand upon the game that I can actually get. =/ I suppose that makes additional character DLC for Ultimate Blast rather unlikely too.

Re: "DragonBall: Raging Blast 2" (PS3/360) Help Thread

Since Ultimate Blast seems to be pretty terrible, I guess I will be sticking to this for my main DBZ game of the gen. I've been trying to find out what all the DLC is exactly and whether it's worth getting, any insights on that?

Re: Episode #0275 (Mid/Late-October 2011)

Perhaps there will be DLC, but I'm never a fan of that when it comes to entire characters. Either way I'll definitely reconsider a purchase, especially with so many great games out in this time of year. It'll still be worth it for newcomers probably, but they're not doing themselves any favours with...

Re: Episode #0275 (Mid/Late-October 2011)

The link seems to work. If that's really the full roster, that's both disappointing and hard to understand. :( It shouldn't be that much effort to transfer characters from one game to the next and at this point fans really want a roster as complete as it can get. What's your source, because as far a...
