It used to be that Potara fusions were significantly stronger than the dance fusions, but I think for Super Toriyama retconned that and said that the fusions are equally strong.
So to answer your question, no, it seems like they're equal.

Re: Why isn't Piccolo as strong or even stronger than Android 17 currently is?
Super's power-scaling generally makes no sense, so chances are there's no explanation. Roshi holds his own against Freeza's army even though he's Raditz-tier at best. I like the manga's use of Cell Jr.s, so I'm gonna go with that. Maybe there's something in 17's body or programming that makes traini...

Overall really solid chapter. I liked the stuff with Whis and Merus, the Vegeta training stuff is great too. I wonder if the gator guy is related to Zarbon, they both have a forehead necklace thing too.

Just because they are the same person doesn't mean they're not two different people. Same DNA, different life experiences. Like identical twins separated at birth.
Twins would still separate, so Trunks and Trunks would still separate also.

Re: Evil Buu is Kid Buu?
This is the one major plot hole I've noticed in the entirety of DB. If Evil Buu absorbs Fat Buu, and Vegeta rips Fat Buu out, he should've just turned back to Evil Buu. As far as I know there's no explanation as to why Kid Buu appears instead of Evil Buu. It's a plot hole. Grey Buu wears Dai Kaioshi...

That DBZ isn't on any of the regular streaming services here in the U.S. It's on Funimation but I'm not getting that for one show. The way Kai was treated in general. Inconsistent score, the redrawings look so soft they might as well not even be HD aside from the Ginyu-Freeza 35mm episodes. Buu Kai ...

Re: A proposal about the future of Dragonball
What OP's suggesting seems kind of refreshing though. Super goes past EoZ and Uub/Pan/Goten/Trunks becomes really prominent characters, while the alternate Z can put a bunch of twists on a Cell/Buu retelling, with room for completely brand new arcs set in that time period.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Unrelated question: How hard on the throat is being a VA for Dragon Ball? I don't know for sure but I'd imagine very. Especially in Z where there'd be minutes straight of just screaming. I remember hearing a story a long time ago about Sean Schemmel passing out in the booth during a particularly st...

Plus he doesn't really have much of a moveset, so they'd have to make animations/attacks up. Toppo, Kefla, Raditz, Dabura is a solid pack. Roshi, Zarbon, Mercenary Tao, King Piccolo, Android 19, Omega Shenron could all be solid picks too. Chi-Chi would be low on moveset ideas but she'd probably be c...

Re: Vic Mignogna
Reading some of the reactions to Broly's recasting, you'd think Broly was an interesting character and this was like replacing Downey as Iron Man. Super Broly is actually pretty interesting for DB standards. But Vic only played that version of the character for one film, so his recasting isn't like...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It should end when they get to a good stopping point and tie up the loose threads. The anime ending with Goku reviving space Hitler is a very large loose thread. The movie that sets up a rematch between Broly and Freeza is also a loose thread. So they're clearly not there yet. Plus seeing a U6 Plane...

Re: It's actually amazing that DBZ was successful on Japanese TV
It was my understanding that most fans at the time were reading the manga and the anime was more supplementary, and that's why they were so ballsy with spoiling things in NEPs/episode titles.
Although I definitely wasn't there so someone correct me if I'm wrong

Do we have an explanation or even a theory as to why they threw on some fake grain? Why add fake grain instead of just turning down the DNR to leave a comparable amount of actually real grain? Was it too late to go back and fix so they threw on fake grain to trick us?

There are people still totally convinced that Toei's gonna revoke Funi's license over the leaks even though Toei hasn't said a peep about it in the last near 3 moths. Funny thing is, they actually did . https://twitter.com/ToeiAnimation/status/1180477237155520512?s=20 At least, I think they did. Ti...

Re: Rumor: Disney Developing New Live-Action Dragon Ball Movie With Asian Cast
Going super serious/gritty with Dragon Ball is the exact opposite of what they should do. Especially since the series itself doesn't get serious until the King Piccolo arc. Also serious/gritty =/= quality. Dark Knight and Joker are fantastic gritty films. Man of Steel ESPECIALLY BvS comes off like c...

Re: Rumor: Disney Developing New Live-Action Dragon Ball Movie With Asian Cast
I'm concerned that starting with DBZ would be too weird for the average moviegoer. Like here's this Goku guy, he's an alien and he has (had?) a tail and he's friends but not really friends with this green guy and he steals his kid and they all learned to shoot beams somewhere and there's some space ...

Re: Most well developed characters in the franchise?
Goku spares Freeza because he doesn't really view him as a threat anymore. He basically flat out says this to Vegeta at the beginning of the Broly movie, something like "If he comes back here we'll just beat him again"
Maybe he enjoys fighting Freeza too. That could be a secondary reason.

Re: Original Dragon Ball anime to be released on Blu Ray in Spain
This release seems quite nice! A slightly improved version of the DB Dragon Boxes. I hope the DBZ/GT ones get this treatment someday.
