What OP's suggesting seems kind of refreshing though. Super goes past EoZ and Uub/Pan/Goten/Trunks becomes really prominent characters, while the alternate Z can put a bunch of twists on a Cell/Buu retelling, with room for completely brand new arcs set in that time period.

Goku spares Freeza because he doesn't really view him as a threat anymore. He basically flat out says this to Vegeta at the beginning of the Broly movie, something like "If he comes back here we'll just beat him again"

Maybe he enjoys fighting Freeza too. That could be a secondary reason.

This release seems quite nice! A slightly improved version of the DB Dragon Boxes. I hope the DBZ/GT ones get this treatment someday.
