Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Tying the hands of other creators sucks, and I wish that Toriyama had been wise enough to encourage those who worked on adaptions of his ideas to go even further into their ideas, rather than shirking them away.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Dragon Ball became way too invested in trying to determine who could defeat someone in a one-on-one battle at full strength. I really wish that stuff outside of the 1984 comic had taken it upon itself to avoid doing that.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Your mileage might vary, but I did find myself engaged with the capitalist dystopia planet, the creepy doll planet, the desert episode and the machine empire. Plenty of good character interaction to be found on those. The only one I had real problems with was the Oolong ripoff. From what the traile...

Re: Did Fuji TV air the original Dragon Ball anime completely uncensored?
That is actually a good point that I didn't think about. It reminds me of something we learned about the Ocean dub of Kai from recent Anime Time Machine livestreams, which is that the director Karl Willems had some disagreements with the producers (who in Ocean Studio's case would probably be Diana...

Re: Did Fuji TV air the original Dragon Ball anime completely uncensored?
A producer for the television network—Fuji Television, in this case—is typically assigned to a program like and then serves as a consultant for what the network will allow to broadcast. Since Dragon Ball is also now an international market, international regulations are also taken into account and b...

Re: ME TOONS CONFIRMED! (SPEED RACER IN THE LINE UP)
Disclaimer: my broken down ass spent, like, ninety minutes writing this post, so I apologize that it sort of turned into a messy jumble of shit, and I also apologize that it comes across as if I'm harping on-and-on, it's just that other people beat me to posting their responses to stuff, and now I'm...

Re: ME TOONS CONFIRMED! (SPEED RACER IN THE LINE UP)
On a closing thought, I think that Dragon Ball is the Disney Adult's anime. It's generic and mainstream enough with a 25+ year fandom in the US alone to build up the mystique of its importance and nostalgia. I'd take it a step further and say Shonen anime in general is the Disney Adult's anime. The...

Re: ME TOONS CONFIRMED! (SPEED RACER IN THE LINE UP)
Everyday I am thankful for never getting into Harry Potter. I'm always of two minds when it comes to discussing the art that adults consume, and then doing such on a generational level. There's always a lot of factors to consider, and as a member of intersecting disabled communities myself, as well ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
The Pan hate in GT has always struck me as so exaggerated. I think there's a type of fan is obsessed with characters making logical and efficient decisions to end the game story as quickly as possible and that type or fan usually clings to rules and 'hard facts' to advance this, and characters like...

I don't think there has been an official announcement yet, but I would not be surprised if Disney+ got the international license for Daima.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
No one would call the DBS anime "groundbreaking", but at the end of the day it was decent promotion for the manga and the films. It's weird to see it that way, considering that the DBS manga was born as a promotional product for the anime. Eh, at the end of the day it's all the same thing.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
All anime are promotional tools for something else.
That being said, the cardinal sin of Super is that it's production committee members did not provide its creative staff with the time and resources necessary to create something more groundbreaking.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
That's all subjective you know. For me and many other people, DB franchise stands at the top. Most of these other anime wouldn't exist without it either... Most anime wouldn't exist without Kimba The White Lion, including Dragon Ball itself. Therefore, Kimba The White Lion is superior to Dragon Bal...

Re: Favorite OP and ED Theme?
I am contractually obligated as a person of Gender to offer that the best Opening theme is Genkai Toppa x Survivor , as originally performed by the genderless monarch, Kiina. It's such a fun, high-energy song, and I'm really happy to see it having become the center of Dragon Ball Super identity. Bri...

Yeah, I noticed that too when I was reporting that post. It's also been six years since shinmaru posted, so I'm curious how their account was hacked.

Re: Toei Instagram posting 4:3 Dragon Ball
And in this scenario the words you're looking for are "lazy" and "incompetent" I'm loath to fight yet another battle, but the word 'lazy' sucks shit, too, for a whole host of reasons. The executives at Toei Animation are greedy capitalists who put profits over art preservation. ...

Re: Toei Instagram posting 4:3 Dragon Ball
I'm well aware that Toei Animation does a shitty job of preserving their projects. I did not question that. and i called them retard And I criticized your use of the term 'retard' because it's an ableist slur used against people who aren't neurotypical. I criticize Toei Animation all the time, and ...

Re: Toei Instagram posting 4:3 Dragon Ball
thoses are just promo stuffs, they have plenty of thoses, they will never remaster db to look like a little like this, they litteraly don't give a shit to quality, Toei are just retarded Let's not refer to a corporation with slurs just because a silly cartoon isn't getting a proper remastering.
