Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93

I wish there was a break, but I imagine the committee doesn't want to miss any weeks now that they're making so much money.

Re: DBZ: A Stand-Alone Series?

Yeah, if there's one positive I can think of with regards to the battle with Majin Buu it is that near the end it really did feel like Gokuu and the gang were cornered by Majin Buu, especially when he uses his teleport technique to arrive at the Kaioushin Realm.

Let's take a look see. Hunt for the Dragon Balls & Twenty-First Tenka'ichi Budoukai: 0 deaths. Red Ribbon Army: Buyon, Captain Yellow, General Blue, Bora, Tao Pai-Pai (at the time of serialization), Commander Red, Adjutant Black, pretty much a hundred grunts Twenty-Second Tenka'ichi Budoukai: Ku...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93

One Piece: Episode of East Blue is directed by Ootsuka Takashi with Satou Masayuki as the animation supervisor. Those two have a lot of contacts, so don't be surprised to see some Dragon Ball Super staff appear there.

Re: DBZ: A Stand-Alone Series?

I don't know how anyone can call Dragon Ball Z a 'modern' looking series. It clearly looks like a product of its time on both a key animation level and a coloring level. Hell, it wasn't even all that well animated in comparison to its peers at the time, like Yuu Yuu Hakusho with its numerous Shinbou...

Re: DBZ: A Stand-Alone Series?

Dragon Ball is different from other battle series because there is no overarvhing goal. One arc ends and the entire series could end, especially in Super. I think that's where some of the sentiment comes from.

Re: Voices sounding age appropriate?

Assuming this odd stereotype also extends to manga, in your mind: you should give Berserk a read some time, my man. The only thing I know about Berserk is that the music score by Sagisu Shirou is most aptly described as being 'fucking awesome'. After a quick Google Images search I can confirm that ...

Re: Pre-Tournament of Power Opinions

I think the start up till the end of the Exhibition Matches was overall good but everything afterwards up to before Freeza was brought in the picture was boring and borught the arc down for me but hopefully they'll make it up when the actual tournament starts. Saving the reveal of Freeza having joi...

Re: Voices sounding age appropriate?

Japanese characters are not about subtlety or realism, even if pieces of their characters are subtle or realistic. Japanese characters are about being flamboyant and easily understandable or recognizable. Assuming this odd stereotype also extends to manga, in your mind: you should give Berserk a re...

Re: Pre-Tournament of Power Opinions

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this arc should have saved the recruitment for flashbacks during each fighter's highlight moment or episode. Saving the reveal of Freeza having joined the team until after highlighting the other nine members of the Seventh Universe would have been a hell of...

Re: Super Episode 95 (18 June 2017)

Wow. That really just says it all doesn't it? It's about time the art department got their shit together. All the people who were once before defending Super's art at the time of BoG/RoF/U6/FT must look like idiots when they compare then and now. Even when the art in this arc doesn't always look as...

Re: Voices sounding age appropriate?

Old age has done Kusao no favors, either. Now he really has to force that higher voice out. At least on Dragon Ball Z he could play the role off without trying too hard to sound like a kid.

Re: Enough With The Silent Treatment! - Pucker Up Already!

Pure machines like Artificial Human #16 and #19 had no ki, which is to say, ki is something a physical body would be imbued with. As such, because the ki of a god is mixed with the ki of a normal Saiyan, I believe his sperm would carry ki that is imbued with the spiritual energies of not only a Saiy...

Re: Voices sounding age appropriate?

Japanese animation is one of the most abstract forms of film and television. Not everything is literal and more often than not, someone that's done is done to be intentionally contradictory or as part of a mix of various aspects. Japanese characters are not about subtlety or realism, even if pieces ...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93

SSOguy back for this episode  Anyone Know what he did? Karasawa's corrections were too strong to pick anyone out. I'd hazard a guess that he did a huge number of dialogue scenes, though. Excuse me, but who's SSOguy? :) Hoshino Mamoru, a fast animator who typically draws bad work. He worked a l...

Re: We need 3 more episodes before the actual tournament

I offer that the arc should have ended thirteen episodes ago, if not more. This story arc has been a travesty of pacing and proper narrative structure.

One Piece can get away with more blood because it doesn't have the luxury of having to such international wood to get that sweet, sweet honey.
